My name is Savannah Miller.
My father is the mayor of New York. One day after my twenty-seventh birthday I was grabbed from behind. A cloth sack was quickly pulled over my head, and I was taken from everything I’d ever known.
I was beaten, starved, treated like an animal, and forced to live in a room with no windows. With no sense of time and no dignity left I finally gave up hope and made a promise to myself to end it all. Unfortunately, it was going to be a slow process.
Then one night an elite group of US Army soldiers came to my rescue. I was brought to a safe house and given two options:
One—Stay under their protection and follow their rules or…
Two—Leave and be guaranteed to be returned to the savages within a week.
I chose option one.
As I work with a therapist and begin processing my hellish ordeal things slowly begin to surface. With the help of new friends and a potential new love I fight to get my life back and make choices that will forever alter my future.
This is my story…

It’s not often I find a book by a brand new author to me that completely captivates me, but Broken by J.L. Drake has done so and more. Broken is the first in a trilogy, and while I’m not crazy about cliffys as most know, it’s been worth it to read this book!
Broken starts with our heroine in a cell where she is indeed, broken. She’s been kidnapped by a mexican cartel and has been in this cell for months with no escape in sight. But as she’s decided to give up, she’s rescued by a cadre of soldiers who specialize in rescuing in kidnap victims of the cartels. Savannah requires days of physical and mental recovery, but one of her rescuers helps her to cope and bring her into the light, Cole Logan, leader of the group. But both inside forces, sources close to Savi and a man close to the cartels called the “American” wants Savi back, but Cole will do anything to keep her safe.
I fell in love with the characters in this book, including the others soldiers in the book like Mike, Mark and the cook and almost house mother, Abigail. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series and I hope at some point these other heroes get their own book!

Author:

Just a subbie, and an author who loves books, especially the kinky ones. I've been reading since I could hold a book and I have a voracious appetite for them. I have that dreaded disease, oneclickitis. I probably have at least 5500 books just on my Kindle alone.I am also a writer and I'm currently writing my first book, which is the first in a planned series.
