A missing legacy, a stolen son, and one dangerous secret

changed everything for them…

SHE STOLE MY PROPERTY

I’ll never forget the night I caught her sneaking around my

place. She thought she could steal from me and get away with it, but I have no

intention of letting her get away at all. Mian Ross has a lesson to learn, and

I’m going to be the one to teach it to her.

HE STOLE MY SON

I’ll never forget the night I made the second biggest

mistake of my life. It was supposed to be a simple job, but it quickly became

so much more–one that cost my freedom and cost my son. Angel Knight became my

worst nightmare… and now, he’ll never let us go.

Wow! My mouth is kind of hanging open at the end of this book, and now I need to wait for part two to find out what happens. It’s why I kinda hate cliffys, that wait when you really want to know what happens next.

This is a dark, kind of twisty story about Angel and Mian. It starts when they are kids and you get the feeling for their future dynamic when Mian is just 10 and Angel wants her at 16. At 19, she’s been kicked out of her home for being pregnant as a result of rape. Her father is in jail and asks her to do a job, so she unfortunately robs the worst person she could possibly rob. Angel. And her world is about to get turned upside down because of it.

I wasn’t sure what to think of Angel and his crew, Z and Lucas, but I definitely Loverated them by the end. (that’s loved and hated.) Seriously, this book was just BRILLIANT! I am now a B.B. Reid fan for life!

Author Bio

B.B., ALSO KNOWN as Bebe, found her passion for romance when she read her first romance novel by Susan Johnson at a young age. She would sneak into her mother’s closet for books and even sometimes the attic. It soon became a hobby, and later an addiction, influencing her life in a positive way.

Bebe is fresh out of undergrad college and has always wondered about the existence of her talent. When she finally decided to pick up a metaphorical pen and start writing, she found a new way to embrace her passion.

She favors a romance that isn’t always easy on the eyes or heart, and loves to see characters grow–characters who are seemingly doomed from the start but find love anyway.

Fear Me, her debut novel, is the first of many.

His Killing Princess by April Zyon

Killing3

Family First, 2

Antonio Bruno always knew that secrets and death were a part of the life he chose, so he never intended to fall in love with Emily Reynolds, a woman who embodies innocence. He attempts to shield her from his life as second in command of the Italian Mob, but sometimes the best-laid plans can come apart at the seams.

Emily is no stranger to secrets herself.  One thing she’s always been truthful about is how much she loves Tony. When a home invasion steals her from his life, one twisted lie turns into another, pitting these two lovers against one another.

Despite the odds, there’s a chance Tony and Emily can fight to save their relationship. That’s if they aren’t killed in the process of finding the traitor in the midst of the Italian Mafia. Can these star-crossed lovers weed through all of the deception? And how far are they willing to go to be together?

ReviewFBknotty1

This is the second book in the Family First series by April Zyon, a favorite of mine. This one is a little bit of a darker read, but it’s still a great book and full of page turning satisfaction that we’ve all come to know and love from Ms Zyon.

Emily has a great many talents and killing is one of them. She’s with an organization that takes out the bad guys. The rapists, the child molestors, the killers. She’s alson in love with Tony. But Tony has no idea who she is.

Tony is a killer too, and one day, someone decides to take Emily away from him. Will he get her back? Will her 5 hulking ‘brothers’ let him? You’ll have to grab yourself a copy to find out!

This book was so, so, good! Emily was a tough, sassy girl who could stand on her own, but she reveled under the love of a good man. And Tony? Tony is a wonderful dichotomy who loves hard and fights just as hard. April knocks this one right out of the park!

Excerpt:

Emily and Antonio met by pure chance. She had been thinking of their meeting just as much as she had been thinking of their past, mostly because she was thinking of a future with him. She was thinking of a future with him because of another huge secret she was holding from him.

She sighed and closed her eyes. God, she had so much to tell him. She just prayed the man would understand. Then again, he was a killer as well, with a code as strong as her own. She lay in their bed and waited for him. As soon as he entered the room, all thoughts of telling him anything flew out the door and instead she knew he needed to simply forget. They had been together for five months, in that time they hadn’t used protection from the first moment they got together which brought her to the thoughts she was having about their futures now.

That was the thing about them sharing professions. She could read his body language better than he likely knew she could. Emily rose to her feet and walked to Tony. As she moved toward him, she stripped out of her negligée and stood before him in all her naked glory. She knew what he saw. Emily wasn’t shy about her body any longer. She now embraced her womanly attributes, and that was all thanks to Antonio.

She had scars, ones that couldn’t be hidden but had been explained away easily enough with the smallest of lies, ones she had hated to tell him and couldn’t wait to tell him the truth on. As he had told her before, her breasts were the size of ripe grapefruits, her skin a pale milk color, and her hair as red as fire. Or so he liked to tell her.

She moved to Tony silently and began to strip him of his clothes, loving the way her pale skin looked against his very dark skin. Sliding Tony’s shirt from his body, she scraped her nails over his beautifully toned six pack abs and looked up into his troubled eyes. “Hard day?” she asked while working on his pants.

She felt emboldened by this man. It was hard to imagine that before him she had been a virgin. She had killed a hundred horrible men but never had taken a lover. Tony had been intense, wonderful, and she had known from the moment she met him that he was the one for her.

“You have no idea, sweetheart.” Tony took her hand in his and shook his head. “You know that is not how I play.” He growled lightly at her and then leaned down, taking one of her nipples into his mouth and suckling hard. “I do love being greeted at the door by you naked, however. From here out I think you should greet me like this when I come home, but only when I text you and tell you I’m coming home alone. I would hate to kill a friend who saw my woman naked.”

She shivered. Had any other man demanded anything of her like that she would kill them and leave their bodies for the cops to find. Period. She wasn’t one to be commanded, but with Tony, it turned her on. She seemed to need it. “Yes, Sir.” She bowed her head in supplication. She knew she would do anything he asked her to do. She would because she knew he would always ensure she had pleasure, no matter what. Tony would do anything for Emily just as she would for him.

“Are you hungry?”

“Only for you, Emmy girl, only for you,” Tony said only a second before he picked her up and carried her to their bedroom.

Emily held back her laughter when he tossed her on the bed, because she saw the look of sheer bleak need on his face. She reached back, grabbed the headboard, and watched him strip. He all but radiated the need to control, the need to dominate in a way that eclipsed anything they had ever shared before, and it almost scared her, almost.

I shouldn’t have remembered him.

He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn’t know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all.

But I could feel him.

The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated.

The second time was different.

He was in the mysterious back elevator of my apartment building. Our eyes met for a fleeting second before the doors closed, and I was staggered. My breath was robbed. My senses on high alert. My body hummed.

That was just the beginning.

He was the leader of the mafia. I was about to fall in love with him, and his name…

First, let me say I really wish I’d read the first two Carter books. I’m kicking myself in the fanny for not doing so, especially since a third is coming out. Time to save up my money so I can get a Carter fix because Cole was completely incredible!

Addison is still trying to get over the loss of her husband Liam when her friend Sia recommends she move into an exclusive apartment building closer to her work. After putting it off, she finally does it after having awful nightmares. Her new building comes with a friendly doorman, hot neighbors, and a building manager able to do just about anything.

Then enter mystery man. Addy meets Cole, a man she’d seen with a group of other men at her favorite restaurant, when she starts getting to know him, he tells her that he can’t tell her much of anything about himself. His last name, his job, his life. But Addy goes along with it. Secrets have a way of coming out, and both of them have some pretty big ones that could destroy them both.

There were some big twists and turns in this book, and as I said, had I read Carter, I might have been better prepared for a few. But Cole and Addy are one hot couple and I just couldn’t put this book down. I sincerely hope there are more because Tijan rocked this big time! Just incredible!

Once inside the elevator, I stood to one side, watching him. He returned my gaze.

We still did not touch.

My chest tightened, hoping no one would call the elevator at that moment. We sailed past the lobby, the second floor, and stopped at mine. I put in the code, and the doors opened to my home.

I drew in a breath, filling my lungs again. God, it was time.

Stepping out with shaky knees, I bypassed the light switch. The full moon lit up my entire floor. I went to the kitchen and paused at the island. “Did you want something to drink?” I caught sight of the tequila and wine on the counter. There was more than enough.

Cole stepped up behind me and followed my gaze. “Were you going to have a party?” he asked, his breath coating the back of my neck.

I shivered, closing my eyes for one delicious moment. “I stocked up. I thought a friend was coming over tonight.”

His hand rested on my back, nudging my sweater aside to touch my skin. “He?”

“She. Sia.” I looked over my shoulder. He was so close. “She stood me up for a date.”

A faint smile showed. “I need to send her a thank-you card.”

“Please don’t sign it.”

“Why not?”

I turned around, easing my back against the island. Cole placed his hands on either side of me, trapping me in place.

“Because she’s slightly obsessed with you, though she’s in love with someone else now. She could circle back,” I joked.

“Me?”

“We saw you one night.”

“When?” He leaned away, but his hands remained on the counter. It was like he was giving me breathing space on purpose.

“At Gianni’s. We went there the night I moved in.”

He didn’t move, but I could feel him pulling away. A protest started in my head, but I bit back the words. He didn’t reply. He was waiting for me instead.

I continued, “You came in with a bunch of men and went upstairs. That was it.”

His eyes narrowed. “Did you talk to anyone?”

“What do you mean?”

“The staff?”

“About you?”

“About anything.”

My forehead wrinkled. “Sia networked with the hostess. They exchanged cards. Sia said the girl was a model. She recognized her from the Gala. That was it. Oh, well, another server sat with us for a drink later on. But they mostly talked with Sia about the Gala and about photographers—stuff like that.”

He relaxed, his hands loosening their hold on the counter. I was scared to ask what he was so worried they’d told us.

“I don’t know who you are.” I lifted a hand, placing it on his chest. His heart was racing, just like mine. My mouth parted in surprise. “If that’s what you’re worried about.”

He glanced down at my hand and held still. He was thinking something over. I held my tongue, worried it was me, that he was second-guessing this night for us. I wanted to tell him there was nothing to worry about, but it sounded ridiculous. I really had no idea. So I waited it out, my heart pressing against my rib cage.

When he looked back up, the hunger was in his eyes again—dark, primal, and more evident than ever. He took my hand and leaned in, closing the distance between us. With his other hand, he cupped the side of my face. “I wasn’t second-guessing this. I want you to know that.” His touch was tender.

“What were you thinking about?”

“Something else, but it wasn’t you.”

“This is one of those moments where you wish you could tell me, but you can’t? Not yet?”

The corner of his mouth lifted. His eyes moved from mine to my lips. “Something like that, yes.”

“Mmmm-hmmm,” I started to tease, but then his head dipped down, and his lips were on mine.

I gasped. The pleasure was immediate. His mouth was gentle, but as he felt my body’s reaction, he applied pressure. His touch grew more demanding, then I was kissing him back. I wanted more. Someone groaned. That was me.

His hand slid around to the back of my neck. He held me in his grip as his mouth explored mine, opening over me and slipping inside. My hands grasped his shoulders, just holding on. All I could focus on was his tongue. I met his with mine and reveled in the sensation. But it wasn’t enough. Need shot through my whole body.

My hands slid under his shirt and moved over his back and shoulders. His body was just as powerful as his presence. I felt the shift of his muscles. They trembled under my hands. The feeling was intoxicating. I had power over him, and I wanted more. I wanted to see how much power I actually had.

Pulling back, I studied him.

He was panting lightly. So was I.

I could see him wondering what I was going to do, so I reached back to the counter and started to lift myself. His hands caught the backs of my thighs, and he lifted me the rest of the way. Now sitting on the edge of the island, my legs parted, and he was back between them. His mouth went right to mine.

I couldn’t get over what I was doing. I didn’t care.

I didn’t think I would care the next day, the day after, or however long this lasted. I had no clue. I only knew I had one night. One long night.

Author Information

I didn’t begin writing until after undergraduate college. There’d been storylines and characters in my head all my life, but it came to a boiling point one day and I HAD to get them out of me. So the computer was booted up and I FINALLY felt it click. Writing is what I needed to do. After that, I had to teach myself how to write. I can’t blame my teachers for not teaching me all those years in school. It was my fault. I was one of the students that was wishing I was anywhere but at school! So after that day, it took me lots of work until I was able to put together something that resembled a novel. I’m hoping I got it right since someone must be reading this profile! And I hope you keep enjoying my future stories.

This is the much-asked for story of Daisy and Markus. Fans have been clamoring for their story, and Kristen Ashley and the incredible novella line 1001 Dark Nights bring you Rock Chick Reawakening.

Through flashbacks, Daisy’s beginnings, the horrific trauma she went through, and her meeting of Markus are highlighted here. Daisy doesn’t think she’s anywhere near his level, and Markus figures she’s just too good for him. They both have that undeniable attraction though.

This was, as always by Kristen Ashley, a well written story. I could have really done without Daisy using the word “Cootchie” so many, many times though.

Dear Reader,

I’m beside myself with glee that this prequel to my Rock Chick series has been unleashed! There was some time when I never thought I’d write it. When I couldn’t be in that terrible place with Daisy. But I’m oh-so glad that she called to me, demanding her story be told so she could give it to me and now I can give it to you! I loved every moment spent with Daisy and Marcus. And I hope you do too!

kristen-ashley-headshotAbout Kristen Ashley:

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.

Mixing business with pleasure was not my usual MO as a bounty hunter—until her. She was scared and alone, running from the very man who’d hired me to hunt
her down. I knew what he’d do if I turned her over—she wasn’t going to make it out alive. Common sense told me to look the other way. After all, no one
f*cked with the Sabella crime family—until now.

Misled 12-6.jpg

Excerpt:

I lightly patted her face. “Wake up, wake up, wake up.” She didn’t move. Gently, I laid her on the dirty concrete, brushing her hair from her mouth.
“C’mon, Mellissa, wake up.”

Fuck!

Kneeling down, I pinched her nose shut as I smashed my lips against hers, forcing a deep breath into her lungs. She was soft, and tasted like honey. I
could’ve lost myself in her if I wasn’t so busy trying to save her life. She didn’t respond, so I clasped my fingers together, pressing both hands down
hard on her chest, pressing then releasing, trying to jump start her heart.

C’mon, woman. Wake up!

She wasn’t responding. Again, I pinched her nose, taking a deep breath before leaning over to press my lips to hers. Her chest moved slightly which
relieved me.

But why was I relieved? I knew what was going to happen the minute I turned her over to Sal. Letting her die now would probably be more humane, but I
couldn’t. I blew one last breath into her mouth, filling her lungs with the life-giving oxygen she so desperately needed.

Breaking the bond between our lips, I gazed intently at her—waiting. Her lids, slowly, fluttered open, revealing her light brown eyes. The sun beaming
between the buildings turned them orange, and set her smooth olive skin aglow.

Her tears began to well, and I knew she was terrified. Pressing my palm over her ear, I caressed her cheek with my thumb, wiping away a drop which had
escaped the corner of her eye. I didn’t know what made me do it—a lapse in judgment—a weak moment? Did I really want to know? Probably not.

“It’s gonna be okay,” I whispered.

She shut her lids, forcing out a few more tears. “It’s not going to be okay. No one will ever know the truth.”

On Her Terms

herterms

*Sigh* Or, as a dear writer friend of mine Raven likes to say, Le Sigh. Why am I sighing? Because. That’s what Doris O’Connor’s books make me do. Along with require air conditioning, ice, a new set of panties, possibly my friend BOB, and other unmentionables.

On Her Terms is book Two in the Premiere Companions series. (It’s terrible, and I can’t really help it, but I always think of that show Gigalos when reading one of these. I love that show) Nicoletta Cabrizzi, or Nicole, is the daughter of a mafia don. He’s decided to auction off her virginity to the highest bidder and is marrying her off.

Now, Nicole isn’t too happy about this turn of events and decides to take back some control of her own by ridding herself of her pesky virginity by hiring an escort. So, in comes Jamie from Premiere Escorts. He’s much older than her, (nineteen years) and he’s a Dominant. (Here’s where all those sighs come in)

So will she or won’t she? And does she follow through with her marriage? You’ll have to buy a copy of On Her Terms to find out. I positively loved this book, even if it was a short, though Jamie sounded a lot older than his actual age. He was awfully silver for 42. Must have been premature? Anywho, still an amazing read as always from Doris.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A Very Decent Indecent Proposal (and my interview with Katee Robert!)

An Indecent Proposal Cover

When a no strings attached arrangement turns into something more, Cillian O’Malley and Olivia Rashidi must overcome the family ties that bind them. Fans of Jackie Ashenden’s Make You and Kresley Cole’s The Master, will devour the super steamy and fast paced third book, An Indecent Proposal in the wildly popular O’ Malley series by NYT and USA Today Bestselling Author Katee Robert.

Title: An Indecent Proposal

Author: Katee Robert

Series: The O’Malley Series #3

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release Date: August 30, 2016

Publisher: Grand Central Publishing- Forever

Synopsis:

Greed. Ambition. Violence. Those are the “values” Olivia Rashidi learned from her Russian mob family-and the values she must leave behind for the sake of her daughter. When she meets Cillian O’Malley, she recognizes the red flag of his family name . . . yet she still can’t stop herself from seeing the smoldering, tortured man. To save her family, Olivia sets out to discover Cillian’s own secrets, but the real revelation is how fast-and how hard she’s falling for him.

Plagued by a violent past, Cillian is more vulnerable than anyone realizes. Anyone except Olivia, whose beauty, compassion, and pride have him at “hello,” even if she’s more inclined to say good-bye to an O’Malley. While his proposal of sex with no strings seems simple, what he feels for her isn’t, especially after he learns that she belongs to a rival crime family. Cillian knows that there is no escape from the life, but Olivia may be worth trying-and dying-for . . .

rev7

Killian O’Malley wondered why Olivia Rashidi seemed to be angry at him every time she saw him when he went to Jamison’s bar in Boston. He engages her, and when she gives him the brush-off, he decides to leave, but gives her an overly generous tip. She doesn’t want to keep the tip, so she decides to chase him down. They end up having some of the hottest sex in a public alley I’ve ever read about.

Olivia goes back to being her cool and aloof self, not a surprise. Seems Olivia doesn’t like men who come from crime families. Killian is still messed up over the drive-by death of his brother months back. And Olivia’s ex Sergei is involved with her brother’s mob family that she ran from. He also wants her and his daughter Hadley back in the fold. Of all the O’Malley’s, I think I like Cillian the best. He’s the most misunderstood one in the family and had taken his brother’s death the hardest, blaming it upon himself.

Though this is a couple that by all rights shouldn’t be together, they make an electric, sexy couple. So far, this is my favorite of the O’Malley series!

When not writing sexy contemporary and speculative fiction romance novels, she spends her time playing imaginary games with her wee ones, driving her husband batty with what-if questions, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.  Connect with Katee at: Website | Facebook | Twitter| GoodReads | Instagram |

My Interview With Katee Robert:

How many books are planned in the O’Malley series?
There are five full length books currently contracted. 🙂

What made you decide to write a book on the Russian mob?
I started with the Irish mob because of a variety reasons, but I’ve always been fascinated with the Russian mob. The tattoos, in particular, are amazing to me. Be to able to look at a man and know his crimes and whether he’s spent time in prison, and a variety of other things is so cool. So the Russian mob kind of worked its way into my series without my intending on it being there.

Did you have to do a lot of research to prepare for writing this book?
I have maps and maps and maps of Boston. Ironically, one of the hardest things for me to keep track is one I made up — Cillian’s tattoos. I had to draw them up on a form so I wouldn’t get them turned around.

Cillian is a very unique name, but very cool, and very Irish. Where did you come up with it?
Back when I wrote The Marriage Contract, I knew there were seven children and that the family would all have very Irish names. So I went through a baby name website and made a list of ones that I liked, and then narrowed it from there to the ones that “felt” right. It’s hard to explain, but for me the naming of a character is a very specific process. A name indicates temperament and personality and a number of other things. I firmly believe that part of the reason the O’Malley siblings have become such strong characters, each in their own right, is because of the names I picked for them.

Are the rest of the books in the series going be this exciting?
I hope so! Haha! They’re all very different animals. Sloan’s book is incredibly intense, partially because it’s her finding her feet and her hero is…on another level. And I’m writing Aiden’s story right now, and it’s a different kind of beast altogether.

His Mafia Princess:A Hit!

Mafia

I am a big fan of April Zyon’s, so when I saw she had a new series out, I figured, “Why not?” Ok, that’s a lie, I jumped on it like a high school quarterback on a cheerleader. And I’m happy to report it was well worth it.

His Mafia Princess is the first book in the Family First series, and it’s a bit different than April’s usual faire, but it doesn’t disappoint in the least. She does a wonderful job with the tale of a mafioso’s daughter and her relationship with his second-in-command, who is primed to take over the whole operation.

Allesandra mistakenly believes that her father is a sweet old man who runs an import/export business. But she is attracted to the dangerous guy that works for him, Gregorio, who she has had a thing for since the tender age of 8 when he was 20. Both her father and Gregorio have kept her in the dark about the fact that her father is the head of the italian mob.

After the russian mob kidnaps her to send a message, war has been declared. And Gregorio stakes his claim on Les. The action only gets better from here my Knotty friends. You don’t want to miss what happens next.

This is truly a 5 steamy hot Orgasm read!

Wicked Mafia Prince

prince

The premise of this story is this, Viktor had to throw the love of his life off of a gorge a long time ago because he thought she betrayed both him and the mafia family they belonged to. Now it turns out she’s quite alive and of all things, she’s a nun…and she has amnesia.

We find Taneshka in a facility where she and others are to be sold to the highest bidder in a virgin auction. She is constantly on her knees praying, and turned away from the camera. But, Vicktor knows it’s her, he’s obsessed with watching her, and when his brothers in the group find out, they are none to happy. They have also been chasing down a lead for a brother kidnapped when he was a baby, and have a good, strong lead.

As Taneshka is rescued, she can be difficult at times. And Viktor can be harsh in trying to get her to remember.

While I found the writing to be good, this was not as enjoyable a read as the first book was for me.
