Time Out Of Mind by Tymber Dalton

Doyle Turner’s a psychologist specializing in addiction recovery and is a professional sober companion. He’s also a recovering alcoholic with over twenty years of sobriety under his belt. And he’s a Dom in his personal life, which he hasn’t had much of lately.

Mevi Maynard not only tests Doyle’s infinite patience, the handsome rock star is testing his self-control, too. Mevi Maynard’s rock-bottom crash follows the discovery that his manager stole his fortune. Now, Mevi’s fresh out of rehab. But if he doesn’t want to file bankruptcy, he has to stay sober for the new tour, or he’s out of the band. But what he can’t admit to Doyle—and has never admitted to anyone—is that he’s gay.

One patient Dom. One stubborn rock star. Both are really stupid men, according to their friend Tilly. Can she help the men get out of their own way and see the light, and their love for each other, before it’s too late?

It’s hard to believe we are all the way up to book number 43 in the Suncoast Series, but here we are. I’m certainly happy it has shown no signs of stopping, and if for some awful reason it does…(insert gasps of indignation here.) There are always spinoffs yeah?

I will freely admit, as most people who know me know, I don’t usually read MM books. I’m just not a fan, but like in BDSM, my kink may not be your kink, but life would be pretty boring if we all liked the same thing. As long as we all respect one another’s choices. That being said, I will always read a MM book by Tymber every time. I love the stories, the characters, and I don’t want to miss a moment of them.

I really loved this one because Tilly was such a huge part of it. These boys needed some serious Tillytervention throughout the book, between her mistress persona, her scary Tilly, or just her matchmaking skills. Tilly puts in some major overtime. (As does the soundtrack to Hamilton.)

There were times I wanted to Gibbslap Doyle in the book, but it just goes to show that even doms make mistakes now and then. I really liked Mevi, and I applauded him for dealing with his alcoholism positively. Just a wonderfully well done book all around.

Ménage A Music by Lily Harlem

Most women would think themselves eternally lucky to have a hot, sinfully sexy rock star coming on to them—so imagine how I felt to find not one but two giving me the eye! I was turning somersaults.

But of course this led to a massive and, quite honestly, unenviable dilemma. How the heck do you choose between two rock gods who want nothing more than to give you pleasure of the extremely intense variety?

Lucky for me these global superstars were brothers who knew just how to share the same toy—sorry, I mean woman—and that left me free to take a break from managing the band and let their experienced, talented hands manage me.

Sylvia is the artist relations manager for Manic Machines, and after mourning the loss of her ex for 6 months, she decides to give herself a makeover. Brothers Tim and Dean Coltraine, (the drummer and bassist respectively) take special notice.

After attending a Christmas Eve taping of a show, they decide to show Sylvia just how much they appreciate their artist relations manager. Like the other two books in this series, I absolutely loved the story and the guys in the band . My one and only complaint? Too short, I wanted way more.

Beautiful Crazy

Title: Beautiful Crazy
Series: Rock ‘n’ Ink #1
Author: Kasey Lane
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca
Release Date: November 1, 2016

She’s a rocker with attitude and ink…He’s a sexy suit who gets what he wants

Kevan Landry is trying to keep her life on track and her brother in rehab. If her fledgling marketing firm can sign the hot new band, Manix Curse, it will make a world of difference. Mason Dillon heads the most successful music PR firm in Portland. He’s desperate to breathe new life into the company by signing Manix Curse.

The last thing either one needs is a one-night stand with a smoldering stranger…

The stakes are high when a battle for the band—in the bedroom and the boardroom—becomes a battle of the heart. But if these two can set aside their differences, they may find they’re the right mix of sexy savvy to conquer both their worlds.

This is the classic story of down on her luck girl meets rich dude while trying to find her way to deal with a crisis. It has the rock star element that is popular nowadays, along with the Rich guy/Poor girl story.

The writing is well done, Kevan is a good three-dimensional character, and Mason is a good ole’ boy from Texas who steals her heart. (He’s also uber-alpha in bed. Which doesn’t hurt)

This book was okay for me, an enjoyable read that the author’s fans will enjoy.

I give it three and a half Orgasms.

Kevan clutched the fine material of the man’s pressed shirt. His tailored suit looked like it easily cost more than the monthly rent on her tiny apartment. Her fingers rested on the hard muscle of his chest, reminding her more of a solid wall than a man’s body. Time suddenly felt frozen as his hot breath feathered against her cheek, and she noticed the thick, dark lashes and soft crinkle of laugh lines around his eyes. The man was hot, definitely. But there was kindness mixed with the darkness in his calmly amused expression.

“Don’t worry, darlin’. I won’t let you fall.” His voice was a low drawl, dripping honey and sex.

For a heartbeat, she wished his reassuring words meant more than they did. They were like sandpaper and silk smoothing her jagged nerves and carried over the thumping of the club’s music. All bass…matching her increasing heart rate from the reassuring grip of the breathtaking man’s hold on her. A woman could lose herself in those mesmerizing dark eyes. A woman could forget he wasn’t her type. For a minute, a woman could, but shouldn’t, imagine a white picket fence with a man like him.

Shifting her feet, Kevan cleared her mind of the fall- induced tunnel vision clouding her head. “Thanks for saving me from total embarrassment,” she said, her face heating to the point of fever. She hoped her words got lost in the loud club. But, of course, that wasn’t her luck, was it? Righting herself, she tugged her crinoline skirt straight and looked around.

They weren’t alone. They were in a crowded club surrounded by dancing bodies, pickup lines, and bleak desperation wrapped up in combat boots, skimpy clothes, and copious amounts of sweat. And the ridiculously handsome man with the angular chin and firm grip on her waist was not Kevan’s date, nor was he some kind of modern-day Prince Charming. He was a polite man who happened to catch her— a career klutz— before she fell on her face.

“My pleasure, Ms…?” His deep voice dragged out the words as if expecting her to offer her name. And still, he didn’t remove his hand from her waist. Instead, he brought her hand to his lips, almost delicately, and brushed a kiss across her knuckles.

Oh. My. God. Who the hell does that anymore?

His soft lips caressed her hand in a simple, old- fashioned action, but jolts of desire shot from where his mouth lingered, down her arm, through taut nipples, and straight to her sad and lonely sex.

This man was not safe.

The man’s middle name has to be Sexgod. Holy mother.

“Kevan Landry,” she mumbled before her brain kicked in and had a chance to reconsider.

Making an effort to keep her wits and avoid embarrassing herself further, Kevan closed her mouth to pre-vent drool from running down her chin. She was used to a little male attention, but never had her body betrayed her so quickly. Reacting with such strength to an almost innocent and chaste action was not a good sign, especially since she was there for one reason: to find the band’s manager for a brief meeting and get the heck out before she got into trouble. And even more so since she’d sworn off men for the foreseeable future.

She didn’t belong in his arms. The more comfortable she became with his hands on her body, the faster she should run away. But his strong arms around her and the sweet kiss on her hand had somehow rendered her stupid…and more than a little horny.

“Nice to meet you, beautiful Kevan Landry. Mason Dillon.” A slight smile touched his full mouth, send-ing more tingles of warmth down her arms at the mere thought of those lips on her body. Mr. Classy Businessman definitely had her teeny tiny panties in a twist.

The Rock Starz!

Is it possible to lose one’s ability to orgasm? Nina has. Lately, her fun weekend hook-ups have been more ho-hum than hot damn! It doesn’t help that she has three flatmates and is forced to play loud music to mask the sounds of her lovemaking. Talk about distracting. Of course, there’s another reason Nina’s less than satisfied these days…she’s just having a hard time admitting it.

It’s a good thing she’s met Ian, then. Not content to be a weekend hook-up, Ian is set on giving Nina what she’s been missing while making her admit what she needs. His talented fingers—and other body parts—are up to the task. But Ian’s not admitting a few things himself. Turns out his fingers can do more than make Nina’s body sing.

When she discovers his secret, it’s time for both of them to face the music.

Nina is having a one-night stand with Ian, the guy she picked up the night before in a bar. He’s doing all he can to satisfy her but she’s getting distracted by the other man in the room. Elton John. His music that is. His song is projecting images in her head and making it hard to concentrate. So, she fakes it. Ian is no dummy so they try it again, this time Michael Jackson is the culprit.

Nina figures it’s time for Ian to hit the road, but he’s having none of that, so he gets her out of the house and lets her know he wants more from her then just a night. After a day out, she goes home with him, but she learns a few things that Ian has been holding back. Will Nina decide to stay and make more music with him? I’m not telling, grab yourself a copy.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story of Nina and Ian, but I was bummed out that it was so short. I wanted to know more. Otherwise, I loved this tale of boy meets girl.

As Robbie Harding belts out hit song ‘Jenny’ to a packed Wembley Stadium, my heart tears, my mind spins, and my insides heat to a lusty, pulsing boiling point. Why me more than the other 90,000 screaming fans? Because I’m Jenny—he’s singing about me.

The guy is sex on legs with a voice to match and has starred in all my hot dreams since the day boys became interesting and for three precious years, it was more than hot dreams. Turns out he wants me back in his life and his bed. How can I resist?

So with lots of naked, sweaty and downright dirty time to make up for, I wield my backstage pass, hunt him down and refuse to be starstruck by the boy next door. Seems Robbie agrees, as he insists on tuning in to my needs and rediscovering our rhythm in a very unusual bedroom.

Jenny is at a Manic Machines concert listening to Robbie Harding belt out their new hit song “Jenny”. And her heart is pounding with excitement, the song is about her. Robbie sent her the tickets and a back stage pass. She hasn’t seen him in years since they broke up. He accuses her of cheating and she walks out on him.

Seems Robbie wants Jennie back into his life and he’s gone to great lengths to get Jennie back into his life. He brings her back to his house. (Ian’s old house) And while he’s in the shower, Jennie does a little exploring. You’ll have to read it to believe it. I have to say I’m not sure I’d want that bedroom.

As with Mattress Music, it was too short for my liking, only because I wanted MORE. So very good. I’m definitely a Lily Harlem fan.

Mother of a F*cker

Title: F*CKER
Series: Westbeach #2
Author: Amo Jones
Genre: Romance
Release Date: September 3, 2016

Ryker Oakley only cared about three things during school —fighting, his band, and getting laid. When he took it upon himself to ‘babysit’ Bryleigh Munroe, he didn’t expect her to be so much trouble, and he sure as shit wasn’t prepared for how fast she would grow on him. Fast-forward to eight years later, his band—Twisted Transistor—is the most successful rock group known to mankind. When his brother’s wedding brings the only girl he ever came close to caring about back into his life, he discovers something he thought they had left behind in the past, had been destroying her daily.Bryleigh Munroe was a popular girl at school, but because her father was a politically powerful man in the San Diego region, the boys either swore away from her or were trying too hard to get with her. She wanted one night. Quick and dirty. No strings. Only she didn’t expect Ryker Oakley to flip the script on her without her even realizing. Eight years later, Bryleigh still battles with the mistakes she made when she was younger. She’s had to deal with things that she shouldn’t have had to, all on her own.

After all this time has their bond remained silent? Can she forgive the torment Ryker inflicted on her? Or will the choices they made all those years ago force them to re-unite.

Amazing. Simply amazing. I’m not sure what I was expecting when I picked this book up, but being a reviewer, I’ve read lots of Rock Star romances. This was not one of them. I say that, because this book didn’t focus on the band playing gigs or band life so much as the off stage life of its members. Particularly Bayleigh Munroe and Ryker Oakley.
This is the second book in the series, and having been the first one I’ve read, you can bet I’ll be going back to read the first one. The story focuses on first when Bay and Ryker were in high school. The band had already started to become popular, and Bay and Ryker were just getting together. But an ugly incident causes a even uglier split between the two of them, causing awful repercussions. I’ll admit, I hated Ryker just a bit during all of this.
Eight years later, and Bay has come back for a wedding, but repercussions are still being felt over what happened in high school. Lots goes on here, and it’s Amo Jones superb character building that makes this a novel that just had me riveted to my seat. I read this all in one go, and she’s defintely become a must-buy author.
