April Zyon has come out with some pretty amazing books with a paranormal and mythological flavor to them. This series, The Heroes of Olympus, has got to be one of my absolute favorites. If you have been following the series so far, (and yes, I skipped the second book. I’ll be heading right back to it.) The gods have assembled a team of soldiers, to find, protect and bond with, 6 keys, (women) that are descendants of the gods. One is the key to letting Hades out of Tartarus. Each woman has two men.

This is one of those series where it would be better for me to really just say…OMG, you really need to read this series! It’s full of smart alek gods, mythological goodness, really, really hot warrior dudes who love and protect their women pretty much right from the get-go, and super smart women. Also, there’s a battle between good and evil here.

Our trio in this book is Rachel, a brilliant weapons maker, Wyatt, and Dieter. Rachel has been shot by an unknown assailant, and it’s up to the team to find out who and why. You’ll absolutely love it, and you’ll definitely want more!

Love Another Day (Masters And Mercenaries 14) by Lexi Blake

A man born to protect

After a major loss, Brody Carter found a home with the London office of McKay-Taggart. A former soldier, he believes his job is to take the bullets and follow orders. He’s happy to take on the job of protecting Dr. Stephanie Gibson while the team uses her clinic in Sierra Leone to bring down an international criminal. What he never expected was that the young doctor would prove to be the woman of his dreams. She’s beautiful, smart, and reckless. Over and over he watches her risk her life to save others. One night of pure passion leads him to realize that he can’t risk his heart again. When the mission ends, Brody walks away, unwilling to lose another person he loves.

A woman driven to heal

Stephanie’s tragic past taught her to live for today. Everything she’s done in the last fifteen years has been to make up for her mistakes. Offering medical care in war-torn regions gives her the purpose she needs to carry on. When she meets her gorgeous Aussie protector, she knows she’s in too deep, but nothing can stop her from falling head over heels in love. But after one amazing night together, Brody walks away and never looks back. Stephanie is left behind…but not alone.

A secret that will change both their lives

A year later, Stephanie runs afoul of an evil mercenary who vows to kill her for failing to save his son. She runs to the only people she trusts, Liam and Avery O’Donnell. She hasn’t come alone and her secret will bring her former lover across the world to protect her. From Liberia to Dallas to Australia’s outback, Brody will do whatever it takes to protect Stephanie from the man who wants to kill her, but it might be her own personal demons that could destroy them both.

Those guys and gals from Lexi Blake’s Masters and Mercenaries series are back! And you can’t see me, but I’m doing a serious happy dance in my chair. This is one of my favorite series and has been ever since Grace and Sean’s book, The Dom Who Loved Me. (Which came out on my wedding anniversary, September 25th, in 2011. Great present!) Of course, I have my favorites, as I’m sure everyone reading Lexi does. I have always had a crush on Liam O’Donnell, the sexy Irishman from A Dom is Forever, and Avery, his wife and submissive is one of my favorite female characters. Of course, there is Ian Taggart. The head of the McKay-Taggart group. He’s a tall, Viking-like, dominant, kick-ass who has an addiction for Guns n’ Roses, lemon bars, and a russian mob assassin named Charlie. (Charlotte) He’s also one of the funniest characters in the creation of literature as far as I’m concerned.

He clutched the box. “The lemon bars are completely defenseless. You are not. I trust you, baby. Any one of these guys tries something on you, you’ll take ’em out. And I’ll protect the lemon bars.”

On to our new release, Love Another Day. Our main couple are Stephanie Gibson, who is the doctor in Africa who was once long ago responsible for the car accident that killed Avery Charles first husband and child and put her in the hospital, losing the use of her legs for a time. Avery had forgiven her, and told her she owed her two lives. She has never given up the guilt for that, despite the fact both Liam and Avery have tried to get her to. The London office’s agent, Brody Carter, a big, scarred Aussie, who worked with Steph on the Hope McDonald assignment, is our hero. He had one night with Steph, went back to London, and cut off communication with her, thinking it was for the best because he was no good for her.

Now, Stephanie is running for her life, and she’s made her way to the McKay-Taggart team in Texas, specifically her ‘family’, Liam and Avery O’Donnell. She’s also brought someone else with her, and when Brody comes running after a brief call from Li and a frightening call to her cell, Brody learns that he probably shouldn’t have erased all of Stephanie’s voice mails.

Honestly, this was one of the best in the M&M bunch to date, though there were times I just wanted to shake Steph. I got a little crazed with all of the times she held the missed phone calls over Brody’s head, and her trying to pretty much run to her death. But that’s the brilliance of Lexi Blake, she makes you have genuine feelings for her characters. And I can’t wait to learn more about Tucker and the the other “puppies” as Ian likes to affectionately call them. Bravo Lexi, for another thrilling roller ride with the McKay-Taggart-Knight gang, I can’t wait to see what’s next!

The door slammed and she suddenly found herself with her back against it. Brody crowded in, taking up all the space and staring down at her. His body brushed hers and she found both her wrists captured in one of his. He dragged them over her head, forcing her chest to come out, breasts skimming along his body. “I shouldn’t do this.”

Tough chick was winning. Steph let her take over. It was surely better than the desperate girl who lived inside her. She kept asking for love and affection and getting swatted away. This was the next best thing, possibly the only thing she would ever get. “Then don’t. Let me go and I won’t bother you again.”

“No, you’ll go find Ezra Fain and bother him,” Brody said on a growl.

“Somehow, I don’t think he’ll find me a bother.” She’d barely spoken two words to the man, but she wasn’t going to admit it. It was better to let Brody think she wasn’t a love-starved girl.

“He won’t fucking find you anything at all. If you’re determined to not sleep alone tonight, you can damn well do it with me.” His mouth came down on hers and every inch of her skin came alive. His kiss was overwhelming, hungry. There was no slow meshing of mouths. He took her, his tongue surging inside and dominating her own. He let go of her hands and started to explore her body. His hands were on her hips when he came up for air. “I’m leaving in the morning. I’m going back to London and I can’t come back.”

She’d known that would probably be his answer. She’d known he wouldn’t want to stay and she couldn’t leave.

“One night. That’s all I want.” It was all she could have. It had been foolish to think it could be any different.

His mouth came down on hers again and she let herself get swept away. One night and her life would go back to normal. One night and then she would be alone again. His hands started to roam over her and she tried to forget all the reasons why this was a bad idea.

He stepped back, his entire body set in hard lines. He strode over to the bed and sat down. “Take off the gown. It’s pretty, but I want to see you.”

She hesitated, all her insecurities coming to the forefront. Somehow, she’d thought he would simply take her. “Let me get the lights.”

He was back in her space again, his hand wrapping around her wrist. “I didn’t say turn off the lights. I said take off the gown. How am I going to see you if you turn off the lights?”

“Brody,” she began.

He was having none of it. “You got on your knees in front of me and you said you knew what you were offering me. The first thing you were offering me was obedience. The second was your body. You’re giving me neither right now.”

His voice had gone midnight dark and something about the tone made her soften. He was right. She did know what she’d offered him and now she was trying to have it all her way.

There was nothing wrong with her body. It was feminine and she was healthy. What was she afraid of? “All right.”

He let go of her wrist and sat back down, looking like a damn king waiting on his concubine’s performance. For all his “I’m nothing but a grunt” talk, the man could be incredibly arrogant, and damn if she didn’t find it sexy as hell.

Something about that voice let her know that everything was going to be fine. He was past the point of rejection. He was in and that meant he would play her Dom for the night. He would take care of her. She was as safe with him in the bedroom as she’d been in the field.

At least she was safe for the night. In the morning she would be in a world of hurt, but she wasn’t thinking past tonight.

DOMS…SASSY SUBS…AND LAUGH OUT LOUD FUNNY!
This book is intended for Mature Audiences. If you don’t enjoy steamy sex scenes, this isn’t the book for you. (MFM)

KG Logo

Sheltering Sophie is the third book in Avery Gale’s Mountain Mastery series and introduces us to hot dom Dr Rafe Newell and down on her luck subbie Reagan Walsh. Our oh so steamy Native American doms and club owners Taz and Nate Leduc are back as well as the Morgan brothers and of course all of their lovely, and bratty, ladies. We also have the Senator Karl, Tally, and a new third for them, Koi, who is Kodi’s brother.

Reagan works part time at the small regional air carrier that Rafe comes through on his trips back and forth as a pilot. He is also a plastic surgeon of renown and as she comes to find out, a master at Mountain Masters, the BDSM club she waitresses part time at.

Rafe wants her as well, and Reagan ends up going to dinner with him one night after work. When he sees the conditions she’s living in, he makes her pack a bag. Rafe wants to introduce her to BDSM, but between a past attack, a present champagne incident, and his job, it becomes difficult for him to connect with his “Peach” She does get Phoenix Morgan as a quasi-roommate however. She also has to deal with an old nemesis, and a spa day the likes of which I have never laughed so hard at…ever.

The ending sets us up for what I believe may be Karl, Tally and Koi’s book with a big surprise. As usual though, it was a wonderful book with lots of characters from previous series making their appearances.

Shelter for Sophie

Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes Book 8

Release Date August 15, 2017

Shelter for Sophie Ebook CoverBlurb:

She’s shy, he’s stoic…not the hardest personality traits to overcome, but Sophie Carson and Roman “Chief” Proudfit have their work cut out for them.

Sophie has a crush on the silent-but-studly firefighter next door. She’s been pining away silently while secretly helping the hardworking man by mowing his lawn—which he thinks is being done by her nonexistent husband and/or boyfriend. He’s definitely not big on neighborly chitchat, but with her stutter, that suits Sophie just fine. But now a misunderstanding at a bar has put him even further out of her reach.

Roman’s difficult upbringing on an Indian reservation is a sore spot, so when he thinks Sophie is taking advantage of poor people for medical trials at her workplace, he lets her know exactly what he thinks. But when he discovers he misunderstood, he’s man enough to admit it…and also that he should have opened his eyes to his beautiful, sensitive neighbor sooner.

As the couple gets closer, each helping the other overcome lifelong pains, for the first time in years, Roman has something to live for other than his job. And, as he discovers when Sophie puts herself in danger, something even bigger to lose…

** Shelter for Sophie is the 8th book in the Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

Susan Stoker is one of my absolute favorite authors. Her heroes have everyday jobs and are sexy alphas who protect and love heroines who find themselves in precarious situations. And one of the things that I love most is that her heroines aren’t perfect. They aren’t size 4 women who have wonderful lives. They have real problems, like seizure disorders, and they stutter, just like our heroine in this novel, Sophie.

I can empathize with these ladies because I live with chronic health issues myself, and I’m certainly not perfect. I have my own alpha hero as well. Sophie is the next-door neighbor to Chief, who works at Station 7 with Penelope, Moose, Squirrel and the others we’ve met. She’s had a crush on her Navajo neighbor for the past year, but he thinks she has a boyfriend and he even gave her 20 dollars one day after she mowed his lawn to thank her boyfriend.

Sophie is hanging out at the Sloppy Cow one night after work with her friends from the burn lab and they are discussing her crush on Chief, she has no clue that he’s listening in the high-backed booth behind her. When Chief mistakenly overhears how Sophie recruits patients for her studies, he becomes angry and confronts her, soon finding out he’s made a huge error.  Chief slowly gets to know Sophie through her friends and co-workers, even the one doctor who is a real jerk.

There are a couple of heart-stopping incidents in this story, and we get to know a bit of the Navaho culture through Chief’s telling Sophie, and Sophie is just and amazing woman who shows compassion to everyone no matter the circumstance. Just an amazing book from Ms Stoker.

Wicked Wish (Wicked Horse Vegas) by Sawyer Bennett

Jorinda Pearce thought she did everything right – graduated from college, married her long-time sweetheart, established a career. But what does she have to show for it now? A degree she doesn’t use, a job she hates, and an ex-husband that broke her heart.

Looking for a long overdue adventure, Jorie takes a walk on the wild side and attends a masquerade event at The Wicked Horse Vegas. It’s exactly the escape she’s looking for, and even better, she can explore anonymously. Drawn to the man masked in black leather with the body of a god, Jorie finds the greatest pleasures of her life at the hands of a stranger.

Walsh Brooks is the most sought after man in The Wicked Horse. Sex is nothing but a game to him and he’s the type that will always leave at the end of the night without looking back. Unfortunately for Walsh, there’s no way he can walk away from the mysterious green-eyed beauty behind the mask of sapphire feathers, because he knows exactly who she is.

Jorie is his best friend’s little sister and there’s not another woman in the world that’s more off limits.

KG Logo

Welcome back to the Wicked Horse Las Vegas, where all sorts of dirty, kinky, sex happens. You gotta love this series from Sawyer Bennett, an offshoot from the original Wicked Horse series, (Which I still have yet to review, of course.) But the series has moved to the 24/7 neon playground that is Vegas, where anything and everything can happen.

Our focus this time out is the taboo best friend’s little sister story, done to it’s dirtiest extremes.  Walsh Brooks is a millionaire many times over and a hotel and casino owner. He also enjoys the benefits of a membership at the Wicked Horse, and up until Jericho found love, he used to share women with him, now, it’s whoever gets him off. Walsh doesn’t do relationships.

Jorie Pearce has taken a hit to her self esteem when her husband kicks her out for being bad in bed. She moves back to Vegas with her best friend Elena. Elena helps Jorie prove to herself that she’s desirable by taking her to Wicked Horse on masquerade night. Jorie finds herself in one of the glass front rooms with a tall, sexy stranger wearing a hood. There’s a sex machine in the room with him and he takes out a tube of lipstick, writing on the glass…

“He walks up to the glass window and starts writing words in reverse fashion so we can read them from our side of the glass. Slowly, he spells out his message. Anyone brave enough to come in here with me?”

Jorie ends up taking him up on the invitation, and after a wild ride on both the machine and him, they both discover they know each other. She’s his best friend’s little sister whom he’s known since she’s been born. Needless to say, Walsh is horrified. The next day, Jorie goes to his hotel to see him. Walsh tries to ignore her.

“I watch as Bentley listens, but I can’t gauge what’s being said as his face remains blank. Finally, he says, “Very good, sir.” I take this to mean I’ll be getting an escort to the penthouse suite, but Bentley replaces the receiver and says, “I’m sorry, Miss Pearce. But Mr. Walsh told me to tell you he’s busy and can’t receive you right now.” My eyes narrow at Bentley. “I don’t believe you. Call back and let me talk to him.” “I assure you, I just talked to him and that’s what he said.” “Call him back,” I order as I point to the phone. “I can’t,” he says almost with a wail. “If I do, he’ll fire me.” Okay, that hits home. I don’t want to get anyone in trouble, so I say, “Fine. Give me just a moment.” I take a few steps away from the concierge desk and pull my iPhone out. I shoot off a quick text to Micah. What’s Walsh’s phone number? I wait a few moments, but I know Micah is awake in San Francisco at this hour. His phone is always on, and he never ignores a text from me. He responds with the number before I can even start to tap my foot with impatience, adding on, Why? I hate the lie, but I write back,Came to Vegas for the day. Thought I’d see if he could meet up for lunch. Haven’t seen him in years. Cool, he writes back. Tell him I said, “what’s up, douche?” I roll my eyes as I text back, Real mature. Love ya. Later. After I save the number to my contacts, I open a new text to Walsh. Let me up to see you or I’m going straight back to The Wicked Horse to satisfy some further curiosities I have. I hit send and then walk back to the concierge desk. I merely lean one elbow on it and watch Bentley with a silent smile. The phone rings about ten seconds after that. Bentley’s eyes fly to mine as he listens, and then says, “Yes, sir. Right away.” When he replaces the receiver, he says, “I’m to show you to the penthouse elevator.” “Thank you, Bentley,” I say brightly”

And so we begin in a friends to lovers story that has a heat factor that totally blows off the heat charts. This was one steamy story. Walsh is determined in the beginning to keep his distance from Jorie because not only is she his best friend Micah’s sister, but he’s basically changed her diapers and babysat her. He’s also her savior, having helped her in a bad situation when she was 16 and exacting revenge for it.

I love these two together and I thought that Ms Bennett knocked it out of the park as usual. I was a bit concerned at one point when Jorie seemed to flip between Walsh and her husband (they’re separated). But she did an awesome job in how she had Jorie handle the situation!

Squaring my shoulders, I march into The Royale and head straight for the concierge desk. I haven’t been in this casino before. Hell, I haven’t been in hardly any of them. Sure, I’d only grown up about forty-five minutes away, but gambling and all-you-can-eat buffets held no interest to me.

From Micah bragging about his best friend over the years, I knew Walsh orchestrated the purchase of the land, then pulled together financing with two other partners to build this casino. It’s one of the most popular on the strip, boasting five-star dining, old-world elegance, and superior customer service. Again, all this from Micah, but honestly… I’m so proud of Walsh, too. We may have lost touch over the years, but I’ll never forget all the ways in which he acted as a big brother to me.

Ick.

Okay… that’s gross. Thinking of Walsh like a brother.

I scrub my mind clean of that thought and demand myself never to do that again.

Rather, I’ll never forget all the ways in which Walsh provided me friendship and support in my formative years.

Yes… much better.

“Can I help you?” a man behind the concierge desk asks with a genuine and friendly smile. Not snooty as I would expect in a fancy hotel, and I guess that goes to the superior customer service The Royale strives for.

“Yes… hi,” I say as I nervously tuck my hair behind my ears on both sides. “I need to see Mr. Brooks. How do I go about getting access to his apartment?”

Micah told me some time ago that Walsh lives here.

The concierge never loses his friendly smile, but a single eyebrow arches high at my temerity.

“Oh, gosh,” I stammer. “That came out stalkerish. Mr. Brooks… I mean, Walsh… and I are longtime friends. He used to babysit me.”

“Your name?” the man asks as he pulls up something on his computer.

“Jorie Pearce.”

After a moment of scanning, he looks up at me. “Your name isn’t on the approved list.”

“Well, he’s not exactly expecting me.”

“I’m sorry, Miss Pearce,” he says with true regret in his voice. “But our policy is strict. No one gets up to the private penthouse without their name on the list.”

I lean on the desk with one elbow and lower my voice. “Just out of curiosity… are there any women on that list?”

The eyebrow shoots up again.

“No, wait,” I say hastily as I hold my palms toward him in a silent plea to not process my last request either mentally or on the computer. “That’s totally stalkerish, and I didn’t mean that.”

“Miss Pearce,” the concierge says, now with a hint of annoyance. “Perhaps you’d like to leave a message? I can get it up to Mr. Brooks today and he can call you.”

“No, I need to see him now,” I tell him firmly. “And I swear it’s not to cook a rabbit in a pot on his stove. Can you please just call up to his apartment?”

“That’s not our policy—”

“Look,” I snap as I lean across the desk slightly. “I’m a lifelong friend of Walsh’s. My brother is his best friend. We lost touch for a few years, but we ran into each other last night. I really need to talk to him about something that happened last night, and I’m not leaving this hotel until you call up to his apartment.”

The eyebrow doesn’t arch but it does draw inward to meet its match on the other side as he considers what I just said.

“I swear to you,” and here I pause to look at his name tag, “Bentley. Please just call him. He won’t be mad.”

With a sigh, he relents and picks up the phone receiver, punching in a five-digit number. After a pause, he says, “Mr. Brooks… I’m very sorry to disturb you, sir, but there’s a Miss Jorie Pearce here to see you. She says she’s a longtime friend.”

I watch as Bentley listens, but I can’t gauge what’s being said as his face remains blank. Finally, he says, “Very good, sir.”

I take this to mean I’ll be getting an escort to the penthouse suite, but Bentley replaces the receiver and says, “I’m sorry, Miss Pearce. But Mr. Walsh told me to tell you he’s busy and can’t receive you right now.”

Marked by the Dragon (The Dragons of Skye 1) by Doris O’Connor

DragonDoris

Fainting is a perfectly appropriate response to being confronted by a huge dragon—right?

While humans have been marked for and by the dragons for centuries, they do not know dragons exist. So, tattoo artist and dragon shifter Duncan Strannach faces a unique problem when he scents his very human mate.

Kerry Jo Watson cannot understand the insane attraction she feels to this muscle-bound, broody, and clearly dominant man. She came here to get a tattoo checked, not lust over the artist—or get a job as his receptionist. She’s determined to not get involved with the boss.

Duncan needs Kerry’s submission of her own free will, and it kills him to keep his distance. The “I turn into a fire-breathing dragon” revelation tends to wreak havoc on a relationship, not to mention the décor. In the end, it’s all rather simple. They’re dragon mates, and when Kerry accepts the dominance of her Sir, magic happens.

KG Logo

Sometimes, an author comes along that just puts a big smile on your face from the time you start a book until the time you finish it. I’m blessed to say I have a handful of authors that do that to me, but Doris O’Connor? Yeah, just a big huge smile. I seriously love her writing, and I totally become lost in whatever she happens to write. I always think to myself, “This has to be the best one she’s ever written.” Then, along comes Marked By The Dragon.

Think of it this way, BDSM plus dragons equals some unique fire play scenes. As far as shifters go, dragons can be a tough one to be. They are just so big! But Doris did this dragon tale up right! Duncan is a major hottie, and he’s Scottish. So yummy! I just fell in love with this book and I’m positively giddy that it’s the first in a series.

Duncan is a tattoo artist whose receptionist is about to head out on maternity leave. In walks Kerry Jo Watson, in need of a job, and a place to stay. Little does she know that Duncan is a dragon shifter and she’s his mate. But Kerry is a human and Duncan has to tread carefully if he wants Kerry for his mate, and his sub. All it takes is one small thing for her to learn the truth.

This was one whopper of a shifter story and the sex scenes were just full of steamy (in sooo many ways!), mind-blowing stuff that only Doris could pull off. (Duncan’s tongue? Fan me now!) Can I give more than 5 Stars for this? Just amazeballs!!!

STORY EXCERPT

“You’ll do no such thing. They don’t need to know yet.”

“The fuck they don’t.” Mark’s fire joined his, his more turquoise than amber as their combined dragon fury clashed at Duncan’s feet. Kerry clung on tighter.

“Please, make it stop. Please!”

His mate’s impassioned plea got through to his dragon. Taking a deep breath in, Duncan closed his eyes and recalled his energy into the tight control he normally exerted over that side of himself. When he opened his eyes, it was to see his mate watching him. Of Mark, there was no sight. No doubt the fucker was on the phone to the elders even now. Then again, what did he expect? Mark’s father was one of them, and Mark was duty and blood-bound to report to him. The truth was Duncan should have reported to the elders the minute he realized Kerry was his mate, especially as she was human. They would check her genealogy and its compatibility to his, and also confirm her being marked or not. Not that Duncan had ever given a shit about the rules, but following them meant his lassie was protected by them all.

Renewed flames licked across the floor, and Kerry gasped when one licked up his leg and touched her foot.

Before he could pull it back, she reached out and ran her fingertips through the edge of the blue flame. Inside his head, his dragon roared his approval at her actions, while outwardly Duncan didn’t dare move a muscle. This, right here, was too important. One false move on his part and he’d scare her off for sure.

“Why doesn’t it burn?” She turned slightly to look at him, eyes wide and questioning, but it was the sheer awe and wonder he sensed from her that made him breathe a sigh of relief.

“It’s just a manifestation of my dragon. It’s not meant to burn, not unless I intend it to.”

“Oh, that’s…” Her words trailed off, and seemingly emboldened by his reassurance, she hesitantly put her hand on the flame for an instant. So brief was the contact that had he blinked, he’d have missed it, but she repeated it over and over, each time leaving her hand in a fraction longer. Slowly the tension seeped from her body and she relaxed into him, which made his dragon far easier to control. His fire retreated as his animal half relaxed with her until there was no outer trace of his dragon left. It came to rest back on his biceps as a tattoo, snout facing toward Kerry in a good imitation of a goofy grin. Her eyes widened when she noticed, and then she shook her head.

“I thought I’d imagined him moving before, but your tat is so much more than just a tattoo, isn’t it?”

She at long last looked up at him, and Duncan exhaled sharply at the quiet understanding in her blue eyes.

“Aye, it is.”

She nodded and traced the edges of his dragon with a fingernail.

“What’s going through that head of yours, wee one?” This treading-softly approach was killing him, but he didn’t want to spook her, and he couldn’t read her emotions right now. It was almost as though she shielded herself—a common enough occurrence between mates—but she was human and they hadn’t mated yet, so…

Damn it, maybe the elders have a point in their rules.

“He’s beautiful.” His dragon positively strutted at that praise, and, sure enough, that goofy grin on his arm got wider as the dragon inched closer to her and winked. Kerry laughed. A rather nervous laugh, for sure, but she didn’t look as though she was going to faint or run away screaming, so that had to be a good sign.

“He’s a pain in the ass around you. Believe me, I don’t make a habit of shifting inside. Wreaks havoc on the décor, as Mark pointed out.”

Her brows drew together at the mention of the other man.

“What did he mean he’d have to tell the elders? He made that sound so serious. Are you in some kind of trouble? Should you not have shifted in front of me, is that it?” She paused and wriggled on his lap as though to get comfortable. Predictably, his cock took that as an invitation to signal his interest, and she went very still when she noticed. A faint blush stained her cheeks, and Duncan couldn’t hold back any longer. He had to taste her. Giving her ample time to pull away, he slowly closed the distance between them until his lips were hovering mere millimeters over hers.

“I’ll only be in trouble if you don’t agree,” he murmured.

“Agree to what?” Her husky reply made him even harder, as did the sweet scent of her arousal, which perfumed the air between them.

“To become my mate.” He didn’t wait for her reply, the urge to finally taste her properly a too-urgent beat in his bloodstream. Kerry’s lips, so soft and sweet under his, opened to his gentle pressure. Her sweet moan as he thrust his tongue inside, to fuck her mouth in a rough and urgent imitation of the other part of her he wanted to possess, meant that all finesse went out the window. All that mattered was the need to taste her, to possess her mouth, to drink in her submission, her whimpers of need, as she fisted her hands in his shirt and kissed him back.

ADULT EXCERPT

His heat warmed her back seconds before he slid a silk blindfold over her eyes.

He chuckled at her surprised gasp while he tightened the thing behind her head with nimble fingers, then slipped his hands down to her shoulders.

“Give me a color, my sweet.”

“Green, Sir.” Her breath caught when he slid his hands lower along her arms until he could grasp her wrists. Warm leather replaced his hands, tightened, and then there was a tug when he clipped her restraints together. Kerry couldn’t help her gasp or her involuntary pull against the restraints, but they held firm.

“Don’t struggle. You’ll only hurt yourself.” His voice held that delicious edge of command that only served to make her wetter, as she anticipated his next move. He ran his fingers under each cuff, and seemingly satisfied, he murmured his approval.

“Color?”

“Green, Sir.”

A hand on her shoulder, the lightest of touches to reassure her, and he moved again. Robbed of her vision, she felt her other senses kick in. The fine hair on her arms rose in response to the slight air displacement as he moved. She whipped her head around to the renewed clink of metal and jumped as something cool touched her nipples.

“Up you come, lass.”

She struggled to her feet, and Duncan pushed her backward until her ass rested on the cool leather of the spanking bench. She gasped in surprise when he closed his hot mouth around one of her nipples and sucked hard, while he pinched the other one between his thumb and forefinger. Pain morphed into pleasure when he switched his attention between the nubs. Every suck, pull, and bite sent stabs of arousal to her clit, making that bundle of nerves quiver while her nipples grew ever harder and Kerry whimpered her need. Sir took her right to that delicious edge, but before she could tumble over into the abyss of her building orgasm, he withdrew. The clink gave her a second’s warning before white-hot pain attacked her nipples. Kerry screamed and tried to pull away, but it was useless. With the bench at her back and her hands restrained, she had no means to stop him, to get away, as the pressure on her nipples increased until she was sure they were going to explode with the pain.

“No, please, it hurts…”

“Shh, I know, wee one. It will pass. Breathe and take this for your Sir. That’s a good girl, breathe…in…out…slowly with me…there you go.”

His deep voice in her ear as he held her, breathed with her, lessened the agony until only a dull ache remained. She jumped when he licked her jaw, then continued to kiss his way down her front to each breast. They grew heavier under his touch, the ache in her nipples giving way to the slow thud of arousal, which beat in tune with the heavy pulse between her legs.

“You’re so fucking beautiful with your tits clamped like this, my sweet wee lass. So very brave to take this for me.”

The approval in his voice made her feel ten feet tall. Oh, the deep, smoky, gravelly cadence of it could talk her into anything. She would take any amount of pain to hear the reverence in his voice. Lower he went, leaving a hot, wet trail of his saliva behind as he kissed and nibbled her skin, licked it as though she were the sweetest lollipop.

“All mine to do with as I please. I fucking love your body, wee one.”

There was no room for doubt in his statement, so Kerry simply gave herself up to the sensation of him working his way to her pussy. His breath grew more heated the closer he came to where she wanted him to touch her, a sure sign of his dragon half taking over. The rough texture of his beard scraped across her skin while he dug his fingers into her ample thighs to open her wider. The lick of his tongue across her clit took her breath away, and then he started to suck that little bundle in earnest.

Kerry jerked against her wrist cuffs, desperate to run her fingers through his long hair and clasp him to her so that she could grind her needy pussy all over his face, but his grip on her never lessened. He was in charge here, and she melted at his dominance.

“Please, Sir, I need to come…please.”

A sharp swat to the inside of her thigh was her answer, and he withdrew.

Kerry shook her head, desperate to have his talented mouth back on her clit, but something cold touched her instead, and then a vice attached to her clit.

“Fuuuuuck.”

Duncan chuckled into her belly and then turned her around.

“Not yet, but we will soon enough. How does that clamp feel on your clit, sweetheart? Tell me.”

Kerry gasped for air, her ability to speak superseded by the throbbing pulse between her legs. With her clit clamped, she could feel every heartbeat pushing blood into that area. She must have managed to produce some sort of sound because Duncan laughed and then helped her up onto the spanking bench.

“That’s my lass. Up you get now.” The leather felt cool against her overheated skin, and she groaned when her breasts fell either side of the contraption he was strapping her to. The bench had an odd shape to it, and she now realized why. With her head and torso supported, the sides fell away, giving Sir full access to her nipples. Leather straps secured her to the extensions she kneeled on before he adjusted them outward until every part of her was completely open to him. Another thick strap wrapped around her back, further immobilizing her until she couldn’t move at all.

Robbed of her vision and held in place, she could only submit to his will.

His large hand trailed up and down her back, and he murmured his approval as he grasped hold of her ass cheeks and squeezed just the right side of pain.

“So beautiful.”

The sharp open-handed swat right across her ass took her breath away. It was followed by several more in quick succession, hitting a different spot on her behind every time, until the whole area felt hot.

She moaned her denial when he stopped, and she jerked as cool liquid dribbled between her cheeks.

“Relax, it’s just lube. Ever taken a man back here, wee one?”

Cue the happy dancing! Maybe even those flying cartoon birds! (Only if they are dressed in fetwear.) Tymber Dalton is back with a new Suncoast Society book that gives me the warm fuzzies. I love this series, have since I first picked it up at Kaden’s book. *sniffle* It’s perhaps my uber favorite BDSM series written. Tymber knows what she’s talking about, and her characters are the kind of people you can imagine being your friends or neighbors. (oh, how I wish they were mine!) I’ll admit, I’m not a big fan of the MM or MMM books, but that’s more of a personal reading preference than any lifestyle preference. I’m all about love who you want to love as long as no one gets hurt. (non-consensually that is.)

See You Sometime brings us a bit of a new dynamic into this, and it’s what Tymber is great at! Skye Bauer is moving back to Sarasota after leaving a complete jerk of a husband. Her two timing ex-wannabe dom made her life miserable and now she’s back home for a new start. She’s staying with her parents, that include a father who has no filter and loves to embarass her with his colorful sense of humor. When she reconnects on social media, she finds out that her old Dungeons and Dragons buddies are still around. Once she decides to attend a munch, she’s invited to their weekly game, where old high school flame Axel is. Her and Axel hit it off and soon Axel realizes he wants to try and be her Sir, but Skye is a heavy masochist. Enter Landry, Cris, and Bob. (Let’s not forget Tilly!) When Axel sees just how heavy Skye needs her pain, he loses it. Will they manage to work it out? You’ll have to grab a copy and find out what happens.

Getting to see Tilly in action at her finest was a big highlight, as well as seeing a whole new type of relationship outside of the club. I have to admit though, the Dungeons and Dragons stuff may have been written in Swahili for all I understood it. Thanks to Google and Wikipedia, I got a little bit of knowledge.

Bad Deeds is the third installment in the Dirty Money series by Lisa Renee Jones, a big favorite of mine. Though cliffhangers, as most of you all know, are a rather dirty word as far as I’m concerned. I really do hate them for the most part, especially when I have to wait for what it seems like forever to find out what happens next. Bad deeds does, unfortunately, end in a whopper of a cliffie. Book four, End Game, will be out in January. (Can I scream now?)

If you haven’t read Hard Rules or Damage Control, the first two books of the series, you should just stop and go back and read those first. If you simply can’t, (say a mafia boss is holding a gun to your head) then Ms. Jones does a great job of giving you a catch-up at the beginning of the book along with a cast of players with their bios and what part they play. That said, this book picks up right where Damage Control left off. Shane is still working to get the family business from dealing with Adrian Martina and the Cartel. Emily…still has her secrets.

There’s so much going on in this book, and in typical LRJ style, she drops enough bombs it leaves you wanting more! I’m certainly not going to divulge anything here, it’s best to read for yourself. Now, I wait impatiently for End Game.

Excerpt:

“What is in your head right now?”

His eyes heat, darken. “You. Always.” He inches back and looks at me. “You’re mine. Mine to protect.” His voice is low, fierce, and he grips my panties and yanks them away. “Mine to fuck.”

I gasp and grab his shoulders. “Shane.”

His answer is to wrap his arm around my waist, pull me close, his cheek against mine, his fingers pressing into the V of my body. “Wet, just the way I like you,” he says, pressing two fingers inside me. “Wet for me. And too fucking perfect for my sanity sometimes.”

“That doesn’t sound like a compliment,” I pant out, grabbing the lapel to his suit as a sweet ache begins to build in my sex as his thumb strokes my clit.

“And no one else,” he murmurs, nipping my earlobe, “will ever touch you like this.” His fingers caress deeper inside me. “No one,” he adds, “will ever make you say their name like I want you to say mine right now. Say it.”

“Shane,” I whisper, and not because he wants me to, but rather because it’s there on my lips, the way I wish his tongue was on my lips now. “Shane, I—”

Seeming to know what I need, he cups my head and kisses me, long, slow, sensual strokes of his tongue that somehow make every touch of his fingers more intense.

“Come for me,” he murmurs, and this time when he kisses me, I start climbing that wall to release, and I’m there at the top in an instant. I stiffen while his fingers and tongue tease, please, and then I jerk, I’m over it, tumbling in an instant into shudders and shakes. Shane’s lips lift from mine as he breathes with me. His fingers slow as he eases me through the waves until I collapse against his chest.

He tangles his fingers in my hair and drags my mouth back to his. “And no one but me will ever make you come like that again,” he declares, the waves of his emotions beating down any embarrassment I might feel over having had an orgasm on his father’s desk.

“No one has ever made me feel what you make me feel, Shane.”

Skirt Chaser is the second novel in Stacey Kennedy’s Filthy Dirty Love series. As usual, I missed the first book, I’m not even sure why, because Ms. Kennedy is one of those auto buy authors for me. This book is about Greyson Richards who is best friends with the hero in book one of the series, Maddox. Greyson is an architect. He’s a pretty happy man right now because he’s at the end of a 30 day work contract with his interior designer, Evie Crawford. He wants Evie. Bad.

Grey finds Evie in the bathroom clearly upset over a wedding invitation. Evie is the maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding. To Her ex-boyfriend. Grey decides this is the perfect opportunity, so he makes a deal with her, since it’s a destination wedding, he’ll go with her as her boyfriend to make it look good, and what does he get?

“My rules, your surrender, until we’re back in Seattle.”

Evie agrees because Evie has wanted him. But after a weekend of kinky, no holds barred sex, can they both keep their emotions out of it?  This was a seriously excellent book with some of the hottest sex scenes ever! Not surprising coming from Ms Kennedy, as she does this genre like nobody else! A definite keeper and a reread for the future!

Exclusive Excerpt:

Intent and careful to take his time not to scare any other employees in the restroom, Grey entered the simple and modern bathroom with the five stalls. Only one door was closed, and there was no one at the sink, so he moved toward the vanity and leaned against it. Hands shoved into his pockets, he stared at the closed door, giving Evie the time she needed. That’s when he heard her soft cries, and with those pained noises, something inside of him tensed.

It was a sensation strong enough to make him question what it was about this woman that drew him in so intently. She’d gotten a grip on his mind and body so tightly that he pondered her situation, and his, and what he could do about both. He’d become so lost in his thoughts that he didn’t realize she’d opened the door until she was leaving the stall and striding out.

Head down, she hadn’t noticed him yet, so he called out to her, “Evie.”

Her head snapped up, a scream ripping from her throat, hands pressing against her chest. “Holy shit!”

He couldn’t help but chuckle. “I’m sorry for scaring you.” His amusement washed away when he took a good look at her face. There was so much pain there. He didn’t like it.

The shock from her face slowly faded. “Why are you in here?” she asked.

“To return your phone to you.” He moved to her, watching her following his every step. The heat in her eyes was instant, and that’d always been the problem. She wanted him. Christ, did she want him, he could tell. But she was smart and clever, never one to cross the professional line either. She was also a good girl, who likely needed love before sex. Maybe that was the real reason she didn’t ever cross the line. Maybe it was less about the job and more about protecting her heart from a guy that screamed danger. He could understand why.

Though he never was a man who took the easy road, and he sure as shit liked a challenge. He stared into her gorgeous eyes, and a plan formed. One that got him what he wanted, and yet would benefit her, too. He’d never been a sly or shady guy, but he was a good businessman. And that meant using a situation to his advantage.

“So, that’s it. You got out the good cry you needed to,” he said to her, and he liked the way her lips parted when he leaned in toward her; it showed him just how much she yearned for his kiss. “Your ex is marrying your best friend,” he added. “He’s an asshole. She’s a bitch. This is happening, but it’s how you deal with it that truly matters.”

“He’s not an asshole,” she said softly, shaking her head. “And she’s not a bitch. I’ve helped plan their wedding for the last year, and I’m happy for them. I think…maybe it hadn’t sunk in or something.” She drew in a deep breath, releasing it out her nose and added with a soft smile, “But I’m better now. I’m sorry I fell apart out there.”

“One, I disagree with you,” he retorted sternly. “I’m not convinced these aren’t terrible people. And two, do not apologize that their selfishness hurt you. In fact, I’d say it’s time to get revenge.”

The side of her mouth arched slightly. He noted her long exhale, and he knew that had nothing to do with emotions. That it was this push and pull thing going on between them. Call it chemistry, intensity, whatever, it was as addictive as it was captivating. “How exactly do I do that?” She grabbed a paper towel, got it a bit wet with cold water, and then began wiping off her makeup, adding, “Murder them?” She gave him her sexy smile that pooled heat in his groin.

Grey chuckled, leaning his hip against the counter. “Perhaps that’s a bit extreme. Murder means jail time, and you going away is definitely not what I want.”

She slowly glanced at him then, cheeks flushing pink, and the dilation of her pupils was obvious. That look had snagged him the very first day after his COO hired her to design the lobby of the interior of their latest multi-million-dollar high-rise.

Now, the look intensified, hardening his cock, centering his mind on all the wicked things he’d like to do to her. He stepped toward her, as she spun around, leaning against the counter, wide eyes on him. There was something about her, maybe her innocence, maybe this unexplainable connection that had only grown since he worked alongside her, but it captured him in an unbreakable spell.

In the seconds that passed, the desire practically wafted off her, scented so sweet his cock went hard just that easily. As it always did, the space between them felt charged with electricity, but he’d never gotten this close to her before. He never let her feel the extent of how he wanted her. Now, he held nothing back.

“I have a better idea than jail time,” he told her, giving her enough distance that if she wanted to move and leave the bathroom, she could. When she stayed put, he added, “Show these bastards up. Take me with you, and make them both ragingly jealous.”

Her eyes searched his, then she broke out in loud laughter. “Yeah, right. Hilarious.”

She might have said one thing, but the only thing he noticed was that she wasn’t moving, eyes locked on him. “I’m not kidding,” he said, erasing the distance between them, placing both hands on either side of her, trapping her between him and the counter.

“You’re not kidding,” she said, more of a statement than a question.

Grey glanced from her bottom lip she nibbled to her flushed cheeks to her smoldering eyes… Christ, what he’d do to this woman. It would be indecent. “I would never joke about something that so clearly upsets you,” he told her seriously. “I can only imagine you want to one-up them. I know I would. Use me to do it.”

“She’s my best friend,” she said softly. “I don’t need to one-up her.”

He let his gaze roam over her pretty face before looking into her smoldering eyes again. “Tell me it’s never crossed your mind what it would feel like to walk in there not like a sad third wheel but like a woman who owns the world.”

“And how would that ever happen?’

“You’ll have me on your arm.”

Her mouth twisted. “You’re pretty sure of yourself.”

“Angel, I am never the third wheel of anything,” he told her, dead serious. “I’m the engine, the accelerator, and the whole damn car.”

She swallowed deeply and studied him, hard. “All right,” she eventually said, “say I’m game and actually agree to this crazy plan, what do you get out of it?”

“I get you.” He brought his mouth close enough to tease her. She wanted his kiss, angling her head backward, parting her lips. He dragged his nose across hers, and added, “I get to have you in all the ways you know I want you. Beneath me, over me, against a wall, on your knees, screaming my name, whatever I want. Completely under my control.” And to ensure there were no misunderstandings, he sternly added, “My game. My rules. Your surrender, until we’re back in Seattle.”

In a breathy voice, she asked, “Tell me why any sane woman would do this?”

He grinned at her—a sly smile that worked its charm on many women but seemed to have an even greater effect on her. He watched the way the heat rippled through her, and her breath grew rough and raspy, and fuck, did he want to make her moan.

“First, and most importantly,” he answered, staying on point, “you will do this because we both know you’ve been looking for a good reason to say yes to a little guilt-free, no-strings-attached with me. So, here it is. I’m giving you the perfect scenario for us to make that happen. The rules are clear. There can be no misunderstandings.”

She hadn’t blinked. “And second?”

“Secondly,” he said, moving his nose to her neck, inhaling her scent of sugar and spice while he slid back up her smooth skin to her ear, feeling her shuddering under his touch. “I’m that guy that every woman, including your bitch of a best friend, will want.” He lifted his head, staring into her lust-filled eyes. “I’m the perfect guy to show your shithead ex-boyfriend you’ve moved up in the world.”

She finally blinked. “When exactly would this arrangement start?”

“Tonight. My house. Eight o’clock. Bring your suitcase.” He paused, considered his next steps. “Send your flight and resort details to my email so I can get that squared away.”

She nodded. “Okay.”

He took her chin, tilting her eyes to lock onto his. “The proper reply is: ‘Yes, Grey, I agree to your terms.’”

Silence fell.

A slowly seductive, delicious darkness slid over her eyes with her grin. “Yes, Grey, I agree to your terms.”
