The Girl On The Bus (Dommissimma Book 2)

Julia ran out on Tay five years ago, so she can’t be the woman he sees on the bus. However, when she ends up being the one taking notes at his meeting, he knows he will move heaven and earth to make her his once more.

Will she agree, or will she run again?

Julia wasn’t going to admit she thought her pussy might well have sealed itself up due to lack of use. “What are we watching?” The jiving whatevers were back in force with a vengeance.

As Belle pushed the heavy-looking, windowless door open and took Julia’s hand, pulling her in, Julia began to sweat. Tiny black dots swam in her vision.

Oh shit, stop it, and do not faint, not here. How embarrassing. But she couldn’t stop the tiny moan from escaping. Belle looked at her.

“Hell. Julia, it’s not den of iniquity. No white slavers or bogey men, honestly.”

Julia managed a half smile. It became hard work when you thought even to open your mouth you’d throw up. Coupled with the horrid metallic tang of blood hitting every sense possible because you’d bitten your lip, it was more than unpleasant. “You sure? Oh Belle, joke, okay? I’m sorry I just felt weird. Maybe I’m hungry. Cake and then an apology for a chicken salad doesn’t really fill me up.”

“You can’t scene on a full stomach,” Belle said and then went white. “Oh, bugger.”

The butterflies in Julia’s tummy turned into bats and beetles and all things nasty. Having a no holds barred fight.

“Oh bugger, indeed. ‘Fess up woman, what have you said I’d do that I don’t know about? I’m not going one inch further until you tell me.” Julia moved to one side. A couple of girls dressed in pelmet skirts that were almost an arrest-able deal, and much too tight corsets approached the registration desk. She hoped they didn’t need to take a deep breath, they’d be hard pushed to. Next to them she looked like the aged granny.

“Belle, unless you tell me what the fuck is going in, I’m out of here. You told me a demo, not a scene.”

“A demo is a scene,” Belle said.

“And hell is just a hot fire to warm your toes beside. What’s going on?”

Belle dragged her toward the wall, out of the way of the few interested bystanders. Obviously they wondered why someone shook like a milkshake and hung back, instead of rushing eagerly to go in.

“Well, look, why don’t you just treat tonight as research? You know for the BDSM book you insist you’re not going to write, but I bet you really want to.”

No, I really don’t. The real thing spoiled me. It had been such a private intense night, that Julia knew she didn’t want to share her thoughts and feelings about it with unknown people. Sadly, she also knew there was as much chance of her not using her knowledge if she wrote about it as of her winning the football pools. She didn’t do those.

“Wrong. Now how about you tell me the rest, you’ve got that look. The one you use before you get me to agree to something I really don’t want to do, but you’re going to do your darndest to make me.”

“Oh hell, there’s a chance we might get asked to participate if we want to. No way was I going to spoil it by having a full stomach, and so not fit for purpose, you know?” Belle licked her lips and winked.

In spite of herself Julia laughed. “No, thank you. Not my scene.”

And if she believes that I have a bridge for sale. Argh fuck and hell. “Er, what are we going to see?”

This short by Raven McAllan is the second book in the Dommissimma series about the BDSM club of the same name.
The first book, Master, was phenomenal, as was her other series about a BDSM club, Diomhair. And, I’m happy to say, her alpha hero’s are still as hot and sexy as in her other books.

Tay MacKinnon is driving along on his way to see his agent/sister. (he’s an actor). He’s behind a double decker bus when he happens to catch a familiar glimpse of white/silver hair on a profile he’s well-acquainted with. It’s been five years, but he’d know his Silver anywhere. They had one magical night before she ran. But while there’s a distraction, she exits the bus.

Julia is finishing up her last day of work and is taking a year off to write a book. She ‘s asked to take notes for her boss and a client. When the client speaks in a deep, rumbling voice and calls her pet, five years disappear in a flash. She’d remember Master T anywhere. But when he goes to talk to her, she’s hiding. Her friend has plans though, and when they go out to a club that night, it turns out to be Dommissimma, a local BDSM club. And Master T just happens to be there. What’s a sub to do?

As always, it was a joy reading one of Raven’s books, even if it was way too short. I love her Doms, and she’s just made me fall in love with one more. I’ll take one please?

Night Owl Reviews

Fan Girl Friday:Appetite for a Great Read!

In the first of a new series of reviews, I am posting a review by one of my very favorite authors. Every Friday, I’ll post a review by one of my top favorites! I just posted a review by Kera Faire, but she gets that this week under a new release. So this week, you my Knotty fans, are getting two of my absolute top favorites. Now onto Ravenna Tate’s very first Weathermen book, An Appetite for Blackmail.

The basis of the story, is that in the year 2112 The Madeline Project was born. It induced changes in clouds to lessen catastrophic weather events. In 2117, hackers introduced a virus called the Tommy Twister, which increased weather events to catastrophic proportions. By 2118, 85% of the Earth is uninhabitable, and by 2124 Earth’s population lives underground in sprawling cities. (See beginning of book for full explanation)

The series is based on a group of powerful, wealthy, ruthless group of men who take what they want, when they want it. They are funding the cities, communication, and Storm Troopers who go above ground to collect data to try to knock out the virus and return Earth to the way it was.

The first man we meet is Arturo Charles Easton, or Ace. He is the CEO of Ace Communications. He rarely sees a woman for very long and his heart is never involved. Unfortunately, His last woman decides to ask computer expert Harper Matthews, one of Ace’s analyst’s to hack into his personal files to get dirt on him. Harper had found her sobbing in the bathroom and had gotten drunk with her, so she agreed.

Ace has caught her, and decides that she’s going to warm his bed. He’s had his eye on her for the past year, so now is the perfect opportunity to make his move. He tells her she can move from her cushy office down to the hacker pool, with a cubicle in the basement, complete with a creepy, leering, cousin of the bosses ex. And she can grace his bed, any time he wants. Or, she can be arrested and lose her job. As Harper has had a crush on her boss this whole time, she decides to take door number one.

Ace realizes that he’s being a complete as*, but he wants her like no other. As they  make love, things change, for them both. Ace has demons that make him the way he is. Can Harper help him face them? And as she works to uncover information with the hackers, just what will she find? And how does creepy Rob fit in to all of her troubles? You need to grab a copy and find out, because this book is riveting from word one and doesn’t let go.

I am completely excited about reading the rest of this series. If the rest of the Weathermen are anything like Arturo, I’m sure I’ll be in for a wild ride! And so won’t you!
