respected and feared by all.
I wasn’t
put on this earth to love or be loved. I was put here to wipe out every last

a strange girl hiding, beaten, under my bed, I don’t let her live out of
compassion.
She’s a
trinket, my plaything.

Excerpt

Just when I was about to put it on, a deep rough voice came
from behind me.
“I have to say, you have a lovely body.”
I shrieked loudly and swiveled around toward the voice. I
tried to focus on the intruder but he was effortlessly hidden in the darkness.
I didn’t have to see him to know who it was.
I knew that voice. My body knew that voice.
Alessio.
I took a step back in fear, my nightshirt pressed against my
body, hiding my nakedness from his eyes. Shaking from head to toe, I swallowed
hard and my stomach started to cramp in fear— maybe in anticipation too.
Suddenly, the lights were on. I had to blink a few times to
adjust my eyes.
Alessio was sitting in my sofa chair, leaning back
comfortably. His left ankle was crossed on top of his right knee and there was
a small remote in his hand, which he probably used to turn on the lights.
He wasn’t wearing a suit. But he did have his black slacks
on and a black linen shirt, which was unbuttoned at the top, to reveal some of
his chest.
His hard, muscular
chest.
I forced away the thought.
Keeping my eyes on him, I saw his gaze intensely focused on
my body. There was no embarrassment. No awkwardness. Alessio was completely
calm and confident as his eyes raked over my body.
“Hmm,” he muttered, looking thoughtful as he watched me.
He leaned back against the sofa. His muscles were clear
beneath his shirt, making him look big.
I forced myself not to fidget, but it was hard. I couldn’t
show fear. Men like him fed on fear. They used it to their advantage.
My fingers tightened around my shirt. My throat felt heavy
and dry. When I started to feel lightheaded, I realized I’d been holding my
breath for too long.
I let it out in a loud whoosh and then sucked in a deep
breath again. But, it was pointless.
His heated gaze traveled all the way down my body. I was
speechless and frozen where I stood. When my body started to warm up under his
focus, I closed my eyes tightly. But the tingling didn’t stop.

A Knotty Reviewer’s Rant: The Negative Nelly

DBCA5B3A-102D-44F9-9CB3-75C67943D362-2113-0000085247049610

I don’t usually find many reasons nowadays to get up on my soapbox and start ranting or even complaining, especially not here on this blog. This space was created to celebrate authors and the amazing works they write.

If you know anything about me, you know that I’m pretty liberal with giving 4 or 5 star reviews. That’s because I choose to read and review what I love.

I started this blog to    D9C2F7D1-DC7D-4D2C-81B9-815CC2108AF9-2113-00000852DDB2E420

Celebrate authors and their amazing work, so yesterday when I came across a reviewer who gave a completely wonderful book a horrendous one star review that was so filled with ignorance and complete bull, but denigrated a lifestyle as well, I felt I had to respond.

CA5332C1-D0A6-48FE-A557-A0CE2E458EDC-2113-0000085261083F9C

But, it got worse from there. Upon looking up this person’s profile, it seems she goes out of her way to choose books with alpha males and BDSM themes then gives them bad reviews citing abuse and insulting the author and worse. Frankly, this angered me enough to comment on a couple of them.

Here are a couple of examples:

Book one, Jane Henry and Maisy Archer’s Boston Doms book, “His Babygirl” . Here’s the blurb: (loved it by the way!)

DE741A3C-FBD5-48B9-8945-B21EE7CA0983-2113-000008A517865C6C

Alice Cavanaugh learned early that the only person she could count on was herself. As a single mom, she works hard to provide the best life possible for her son Charlie, and to earn the respect of those around her. She might take part in a scene at The Club, but she’s way too busy to be anyone’s full-time submissive. And that’s fine with her, since the one dominant she’s fantasized about submitting to has given her nothing but mixed-signals and heartache… until now.

Alexander “Slay” Slater, a former Marine and Dungeon Master at The Club, has been eyeing Alice for a while now… from a distance. But now that he’s set his sights on her, he’s all in. He will make her feel safe and cared for, and attend to her every need—including taking her over his knee for a sound spanking when she needs it.

But when Alice and Slay are roped into a dangerous entanglement with an insidious drug cartel, their relationship is put to the test. Can Alice trust Slay, even when it means ignoring her own fears and instincts? Can Slay keep Alice safe from the dangers that they face? Above all, can they overcome the obstacles that keep them apart—so that Slay can become Alice’s Daddy, and Alice… his babygirl?

DISCLAIMER: This book contains the spanking of adult women, mild elements of age-play, and BDSM including power exchange. If any of these offend you, please do not purchase.

And this is the ludicrous review!

Incest is Sexy?

Since this entire series aggressively promotes sexual assault against women, I shouldn’t be surprised that the author now appears to be condoning incest and child molesters.

Although brain-dead Alice doesn’t care about her own life, self-respect or safety, it’s horrifying that she is willing to allow a known sexual predator access to her young child.

Why is this book listed as a romance, unless raping children (as well as adult women) is currently considered sexy, erotic and romantic?

Excuse me? This book is about a daddy Dom relationship between two CONSENTING ADULTS . This review is just insulting, there’s no incest, nor condoning of abuse or rape. For those of you who would like to see for yourself, here’s a link to this awesome book!

A routine mission…

Sean Taggart is hunting a deadly terrorist, and his only lead is the lovely Grace Hawthorne. She’s the executive assistant for an employment agency Sean suspects is a front for illegal activities. To get the truth, he is going to have to get very close to Grace, a task he is all too eager to undertake when he discovers her deliciously submissive nature.

…turns into a dangerous seduction.

Soon, Grace Hawthorne is living a double life. By day, she is the widowed mother of two college-aged sons. By night, she submits to Sean’s every dark desire. She’s living out her wildest fantasies of pleasure—intimate acts of trust she’s only read about. As passion engulfs her, a murderer strikes, and Grace learns that Sean has a deeply hidden agenda. Will Sean choose his mission and break her heart or be the Master of her dreams?

A Masters and Mercenaries Novel by Lexi Blake

And the review that really SET ME OFF!!

Doms can’t love anyone!

The title is the first lie in this book about a selfish, sadist man who enjoy hurting women. Dominant men are not capable of love, respect or human kindness of any type. “Doms” are sexual bullies who get sexually excited by overpowering someone smaller or weaker, similar to rapists and pedophiles. Smart, confident and emotionally mature women don’t take abuse from anyone!

As a submissive woman, who considers herself smart, confident, and emotionally mature, I find this review insulting to me, my husband, and especially Lexi Blake. The Masters and Mercenaries series is totally brilliant and Lexi’s Doms are brave, kind, protective and loving men  But don’t take my word for it  Right now, the Dom who Loved Me is free on Amazon!

Authors work hard to bring us the books we love, and to leave a negative review, especially when it’s full of mistruths, misinformation, and nastiness, it’s just not right.

80B2C82F-7940-4E0F-8FBB-24153D9FAFEA-2113-000008539F9FEF6F

Rant concluded, I have to say that if you love to read, support your authors by leaving a review. Even just a short sentence like, “I loved this book!” helps out an author greatly, especially independent authors.

Dark Control by Annabel Joseph

Release Date: September 25th, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Not all fantasies are safe, sane, and consensual. Welcome to the world of The Gallery…

Juliet meets Fort St. Clair on a miserable, drunken night, and wakes up the next morning cuffed to his guest room bed. Of course, Fort would never take advantage of her. No, the pleasure and pain he wants to inflict on her body must be negotiated in advance, because once Juliet sets foot in his private, exclusive dungeon, she belongs to him.

BDSM at The Gallery is supposed to be a straightforward arrangement, an affair by the rules, but Juliet and Fort’s growing connection brings unexpected emotions they can’t control. She’s the free spirit who transforms his rigid world, and he’s the Dominant she can finally trust—or can she?

KG Logo

Dark Control is the first book in Annabel Joseph’s Dark Dominance series. Fair warning, take notice of the word dark here. It is a rather dark book. It’s not a happy, fluffy romance with rainbows and puppy dogs.Quite the opposite. If you have triggers, you may want to think twice before reading.

Fort St. Claire and his friends Devin and Milo are looking for some submissive fun at a BDSM club. With none of their type to be had, they get ready to leave, when Fort sees a young woman crying in the alleyway. She’s drunk, and he can’t get much out of her. Despite the protests from his friends. (Which, made them complete jerks to me btw.) He takes her home. He figures he’s just dropping her off, but she passes out for the night. Juliet wakes up shackled to his headboard. (Which should have been her first indication to run long and fast). He ends up taking her home, but they run into each other again, and start a sadist/masochist relationship that I’ll admit I had a rather difficult time reading most times. (and, I am a submissive) The name calling, which admittedly happens, was just a bit high on the humiliation scale. Fort seemed to revel in it. But things get really heated when he takes her to his private club, The Gallery.

Now, if I were to step foot in the Gallery, I would run right back out the door. The Gallery is made up of a private membership of 20-30 dominant men only, who may bring a woman, but she ends up being the property of The Gallery. Um, hello? Not a chance in Hades! Juliet goes there with him, but the experience isn’t quite white she expects, and what happens on the second visit seals my view of Fort being a complete jerk. Sorry, just would pass.

Like I said, this is a rather dark book, but it’s also what Annabel is known for, so I wasn’t expecting a fluffy HEA. Maybe not so much humiliation. Loved Goodluck!

I crossed to join him on the sofa, leaving some space between us for the questions and uneasiness to fit. He put his cup on the table behind him, then reached across the space to touch the top of my knee. His fingers trailed over the place he’d grabbed me last night, lightly, nothing sexual now. He wanted to discuss things. A future for us, maybe.

Next, he tilted my neck, inspecting the place where he’d bit me, his touch lingering like he might still soothe the pain. “No marks,” he said. “At least nothing obvious. You feel okay?”

“Yes, I feel fine.” I felt more than fine. God, I felt a million things. “How do you feel?” I asked, turning the question back on him.

“Conflicted,” he said, coming right out with it. “Here’s the thing about last night. What I did to you up against the wall in that work room…that was me on my best behavior. That was me being a gentleman.”

“Was it?” I took a sip of my tea now that it was cooler. “It felt pretty nice.”

“I can be worse. I usually am when it comes to sex.”

“Hmm.” I took another sip of tea to process, rolling the vanilla and cinnamon flavors on my tongue. “You mean you can be even rougher?”

“Rougher, colder, more intense. I’m a Dominant, but it’s more accurate to call me a sexual sadist. I like to hurt women and force them to do things for my pleasure. It’s how I prefer to get off.”

“I understand about BDSM.”

He shook his head. “You understand mainstream BDSM, the safe, sane, consensual stuff they do at Underworld. You’re into the romance of it, the slap and tickle to get off. To me, that’s going through the motions. It’s not real. Well, not real enough.”

I met his gaze, wondering what he meant by that. Not real enough?

“It’s hard to explain,” he went on, an edge of frustration in his voice. “Especially to a BDSM baby like you.”

“A BDSM baby?” I protested. “Maybe I’m a mess, but I’m not a baby. I’ve been submissive for years. I’ve done a lot of scenes, experimented with a lot of things.”

“I’m not trying to insult you. I’m trying to explain. You’ve been with a few Doms, you’ve participated in the lifestyle, but at the end of the day, you’re looking for pleasure, a good time.” He grimaced. “I’m into something different.”

“You don’t like having a good time? How does that work?” I blinked in confusion. “Why do you do whatever the hell you do if it’s not fun?”

“It’s fun to me. Dark fun, though.” He shifted, pushing back his hair. “I do BDSM for the rush and release. I like to push boundaries, and hang out with other people who like to push boundaries. Places like Underworld only scratch the surface of power exchange. I belong to a private club where people…go a little further.”

“So…” I put my tea on the low table in front of us. “This is why you’re not good for me? Your sadism is the reason you believe we won’t work out?”

“It’s hard for me to work out with anyone, Juliet. Except, you know, the women who come to the private club. I can be as rough as I want, as cruel as I want, and they want more.”

I looked away from him, biting my lip, considering how to reply. “Do you think…” I turned back to him. “Do you think I didn’t want more last night? Do you think I responded badly to your force?”

He held my gaze. “I think you responded wonderfully. That’s why I’m sitting here on your couch, drinking tea with you, which I literally fucking hate.” He picked up his cup as if to illustrate his point, pounded the rest of his tea, and swallowed with a disgusted face. “I hate tea, Jewels. More than anything in the world.”

“I’m sorry.”

“I’m not sorry. I only meant to say hi to you last night, but it went further than that, and now we have to decide…”

“Decide if we’re going to go further still?” I looked at him from under my lashes. “How often do you go to your private club to do dark, sadistic, non-fun things?”

“Often enough,” he said tightly. “And I don’t always play with the same women. It’s not a relationship thing, where we all pair up into couples.”

“It’s a sex club thing.”

He shrugged. “It’s scratching a mutual itch with no emotional expectations. So it’s not for everyone, especially emotional types. When the wrong people get caught up in that kind of lifestyle, the results aren’t pretty. That’s why I’ve been trying to stay away from you, even though I find you painfully attractive.”

“Painfully attractive.” I sniffed and sipped my tea. “Can’t hurt me, can’t live without me.”

“It’s not a joke, Juliet.”

“I know.” If it were a joke, I wouldn’t feel such lust and confusion, such horrible curiosity. “You could show me the kind of dark stuff you like to do,” I suggested. “You could invite me to this club to see what goes on, and I could tell you how I felt about it.”

“Spectators aren’t allowed. Only vetted people are allowed at the club, so there aren’t any misunderstandings.”

“Oh.” At this point, I understood what he was trying to say. Even after last night’s scorching-hot hookup, he thought we might be terminally non-compatible.

He reached for my hand and held it hard. His deep hazel eyes hit me full force, his lips pressed in a line. “I’m trying to protect you,” he said. “Since I can’t…” Those eyes raked over me, leaving me feeling stripped. “Since I can’t enter into any kind of…”

“Relationship,” I provided.

“Any kind of relationship with you, especially the sweet, emotional relationship you probably want…”

I let out a long breath. “That’s fucked up. You don’t know me well enough to know what kind of relationship I want. Honest talk: I wanted sex from you from that first sober morning I met you, and I got it.” I stood with my cup and saucer, carrying my tepid tea over to the sink. It had too much sugar. It was too sweet, like me. “I don’t have any judgment about your…your thing. Your sexual sadism, your private club, your playboy ways.”

“Playboy ways,” he repeated in an amused mutter.

“At the same time, I think you’re kind of an asshole. If you don’t want a relationship with me, don’t ask me to dinner at the Ivy. Don’t invite my boss to be part of your ad campaign, and then drop by his art show to fuck me against a wall after weeks without contact.”

“I tried to call you after the Ivy. You blocked my number, Sparkles.”

I glared at him from the kitchen. “Sparkles?

“To go with Jewels. To go with your eyes when you get really emo and intense.”

I picked up a dishtowel and started aggressively wiping invisible spots on the counter. “I had to block your number, Fort. No offense to you personally. I’m just at the point where I have to be more careful about the men I let into my life.”

“As you should be.” He stood to bring me his cup, his expression turned serious. “I try to be careful too. I try to maintain boundaries when I think someone might be easily hurt.”

My eyes widened. “Me? You think I’m some fragile flower? I’m just super sensitive to bullshit right now.”

He didn’t reply, only watched me with his lofty, level gaze. A sadist? Definitely. He could hurt me in so many ways, and those were only the ways I knew about.

“Come here, Sparkles,” he said from across the counter.

“My name’s not Sparkles.”

“Come here, Juliet.”

I wanted to say no. I wanted to make some more hot tea and dash his most-hated mixture in his face.

No, I wanted to go to him. His expression was kind, if resigned. His arms opened for me. I walked around the counter and let him embrace me. He pressed his cheek against my forehead and stroked my back.

“You’d hate it,” he said. “You’d hate what I’m into.”

“I didn’t hate it last night.”

“I was careful with you last night.” He tilted my head back and brushed fingers across my temples and through my hair. “We have this rule at the club: never fuck with the vulnerable. We’re not allowed to hook up with women who are emotionally or physically complicated, women we might damage. We can’t even bring them into the space. It’s like an honor system.”

I tugged my chin from his fingers and looked away.

“I figured out why I like you,” he went on. “I figured out why I want you so much. It’s because you’re all on the surface. Your emotions are right there, plain as day, all the time. You don’t give a fuck about saying what you feel and being who you are. You have this open expression, this way of looking at me and at other people. And you dress however you want.”

“What’s wrong with the way I dress?”

His eyes glanced over the blue fur headband I wore. “I love the way you dress. I love the way that headband matches your eyes, but not your clothes.”

“These are my Sunday hangout clothes,” I said, pouting. “They’re not supposed to look hot and put together like your freaking designer suits.”

He held me against his chest, running his big hands up and down my back. “Just shut up for a minute, because I don’t know what to do with you. I don’t know what to do about what happened last night…”

Honest Intentions (The Safeguard Series Book 5) by Kennedy Layne

About HONEST INTENTIONS

USA Today Bestselling Author Kennedy Layne continues the Safeguard Series with this fast-paced romantic suspense novel that leads the SSI team on the trail of a serial killer who continually seems to be one step ahead…

Coen Flynn has always done the right thing, even it meant siding against his own family. His sense of justice was what led him to take a job in law enforcement, though his choice of agency was a bit unorthodox. His current assignment was believed to be a simple protection detail. He was never supposed to be identified by his charge, but a murder took priority and changed the course of his mission.

Brettany Lambert’s life is suddenly rocked when she finds the body of a dead friend on the eve of what was supposed to be a special wedding. Now Brettany and Coen are trapped in the middle of a blizzard and their attraction will fuel the heat of temptation. Good intentions always have a way of backfiring, but his desired intent won’t matter if a notorious serial killer can finish what he started.

KG Logo

Honest Intentions is the fifth book in Kennedy’s sexy and suspenseful Safeguard series, about a group of ex-military men who have been brought together by Townes Calvert. For those of you who haven’t been following along in this incredible series, this is the series description…

“ Safeguard Security & Investigations (SSI) is owned and operated by Townes Calvert, a retired Marine Gunnery Sergeant who returned home to the States a bit more damaged than he’d care to admit. Not that anyone could tell outside of a very select group of former active duty buddies. It had taken Townes quite a while to acclimate to civilian life and he’d kept himself busy in the interim working in treacherous situations with even more dangerous friends. The final result is a close-knit unit of highly trained former military men who have the experience to protect the innocent, investigate crimes on the gritty edge, and aid local law enforcement when justice has taken a back seat to political correctness’

Our story in book number five has operative and retired marine Coen Flynn braving the cold climate of Colorado to protect school teacher Brettany Lambert. Brettany finds the body of her friend one night in a cabin while she’s at another friend’s wedding location. But Coen has been watching out for Brett since she’s a potential target for a serial killer that SSI has been looking for.

There are lots of twists and turns in this story as Coen gets to know Brett, even though he swears he won’t go down the same route that some of his other friends at SSI have gone down and gotten involved. But there’s a killer on the loose, and he wants Brett dead. Can Coen keep her safe?

As usual, Kennedy Layne does a smashing job at not only making us fall for the main characters, but turning the story into a nail biter that you just can’t put down. I actually have done my usual and picked this series up at close to the end, but you can bet I’m grabbing books 1-4 and catching up! I became a huge fan of Ms. Layne’s with her CSA case Files series, and she just keeps getting better!

She’s the fantasy they’ve always wanted to share…

Best friends Jonathan Allen and Cruz Ramos share almost everything—a history in the Navy, their sailboat building and restoration business, and the desire to dominate a woman together, which they do at Baltimore’s exclusive club, Blasphemy. Now if they could find someone who wants to play for keeps…

All Hartley Farren has in the world is the charter sailing business she inherited from her beloved father. So when a storm damages her boat, she throws herself on the mercy of business acquaintances to do the repairs—stat. She never expected to find herself desiring the sexy, hard-bodied builders, but being around Jonathan and Cruz reminds Hartley of how much she longs for connection. If only she could decide which man she wants to pursue more…

As their attraction flashes hot, Jonathan and Cruz determine to have Hartley for their own. But the men’s erotic world is new and overwhelming, and Hartley’s unsure if she could really submit to being both of theirs to take…forever.

Laura Kaye’s Blasphemy series is back with her first menage’ of the series, Theirs to Take. And boy was it worth the wait! Especially since we get two hot Masters this time around. I will say that this book is very light on the BDSM factor and focuses more on bedroom D/s between them all.

Hartley Farren is devastated when her catamaran is ruined during a hurricane and another boat lands on it. She’s sitting in the marina office when tall, blonde, and hot Jonathan Allen walks in. He overhears her on the phone looking for a boat builder, and when he’s introduced to her, he mentions that he just happens to own A and R Builds and Restoration with his partner.

He looks at the damage on the boat and checks her out as well, he decides he wants to take on the job. Now he just has to get his partner and best friend Cruz Ramos on board. Cruz is leary of taking the job. He’s worried that “Jay” will get hurt by Hartley, or worse, she’ll take him away from Cruz. Cruz is bisexual, and hasn’t let his friend know his feelings.

After talking to friend and sub Scarlett, Hartley finds out that not only are the guys doms, but they like taking woman together. Hartley ends up acting on the signals she’s been getting, and the three of them get together. But, can they make it work as a threesome? This was a great book, and I’m looking forward to the next Blasphemy book. I’ll admit, I’m not crazy about M/M sex, but Laura did this one up right.

Unhinged by Natasha Knight

Title: Unhinged
Author: Natasha Knight
Genre: Dark Romance
Release Date: September 25, 2017
Blurb
EveTwo years ago, I made a deal with the devil. That night, I lost everything.
That night, I thought he’d died.

But he’s back. Risen, like Lazarus, from the dead. And he’s dark. Darker than
he was before. More dangerous. Unhinged. A scarred, tattooed savage.

The way he looks at me, it should terrify me, but I’m drawn to him, to his
intensity. Consumed by it. By him. Even though I know if I’m not careful, his
obsession will destroy me.

Zach

I should have died that night two years ago. My mistake cost my men their
lives. It should have cost me mine. But I survived. And the day I learned she
did too, I made it my mission to find her.

I sought her out. Tracked her. Shadowed her every move. I’ve been inside her
home. Eaten her food. Drank her liquor. I’ve stood beside her bed and watched
her sleep.

She has so many secrets, and I know one of them. It’s the one where our pasts
collided. The one that destroyed me.

And it’s the reason I’ve come for her.

I never intended to touch her, but I did. And now that I’ve had a taste, I want
more. I want her. But that won’t change why I’m here. It won’t change why I
came for her.

Natasha Knight has done it again with Unhinged, a standalone novel featuring two damaged characters that totally combust when they get together. We have a damaged hero who is on a mission of vengeance, and a heroine who wants to get away from the hero and save her family. But does she really want to get away from him?
Zach Amato is at first stalking Eve El Amin, known now as Eve Adams. She was supposed to be dead after a mission went bad and killed all 6 of his men. He believes Eve betrayed them and led them into a trap after being betrayed by her own brother. Zach is angry, and he wants answers.
Eve wants nothing more than to forget that awful night, but Zach is holding her close. When they find out why Eve was left alive, they realize they are both still in danger and are on a mission to get to the bottom of what is going on.
This is a hot and steamy book with great suspense around every corner! So well done Ms Knight!

Savannah
takes control…
Tired of all the lies and deception, Savannah Miller must learn to face life on
her own. As she seeks to find out who she really is, she still is still
burdened with the fallout from past traumas that left her broken.

Her fragile hold on her new life slowly gives her the confidence to move ahead.
What she really needs is right in front of her—Cole Logan is patiently waiting
for the right moment to prove his love.

But her past isn’t finished with her yet…

Are Savannah’s strength and Cole’s love enough to vanquish the shadows, or will
those who mean them harm succeed in preventing the mending of their shattered
souls?

KG Logo

Mended is the final book of the Broken trilogy by J.L Drake about a young woman named Savi who is rescued by a covert group of military men when she is kidnapped thanks to her father’s aide and her supposed best friend. She falls in love with their leader, Cole Logan. But at the end of the book, she decides she needs her space and moves out of the protective environment of the Shadows compound and into an apartment in the city. She gets a job as a bartender in a bar owned by an ex-Shadows member, Zack. She also becomes good friends with fellow bartender and neighbor Jake.

Savi has to testify against the American and her ex-friend Lynne. Upon testifying against the American, she’s rather upset that Keith is not only rather cool towards her, but he also sends her with an agent rather than taking her himself. My issue in this book is that Savi spends a lot of time being mad at both Cole and the Shadows guys for being standoffish, but she repeatedly pushes them all away by saying she needs space. She sleeps with Cole then kicks him out. Gives the cell with all of their contacts back to Cole and gets a phone with only Sue and Jake’s number on it, then complains about how distant the guys are. It’s like Savi wants her cake and to eat it as well.

Cole’s parents are both far too involved in their relationship, and I honestly think they kept them apart longer with all of their bad advice. Jake, well he stuck his nose in far too often, and setting her up on a blind date didn’t help matters any.

I was also a bit confused with the writing going from third person to first person and past tense to present tense. Aside from all of this, I really did enjoy this series.

After witnessing the murder of her lover and the heartbreaking loss of their unborn child, Savannah wants to end it all.

Then she is given a second chance at love.

Sadly, even when life hands you second chances it doesn’t always follow that things will work out the way you want them to.

Some lies can just be too painful to move on from.

What’s worse than being Broken?

Shattered..

KG Logo

Shattered is the second book in the Broken trilogy, and takes up from where book one leaves off. If you haven’t read book one, Broken, you’ll want to go back and read it. Savannah is heartbroken and thinks the man who rescued her from her kidnappers has been beheaded. She’s lost their baby and is so devastated she’s ready to take her own life.

Luckily, Keith stops her. And they find out that the tape has been staged, Cole may be still alive, so the guys head down to Mexico and stage a rescue. Savi is surprised but thrilled when he comes home. Later, Cole and co. come up with a plan but Savi finds it to be too dangerous to Cole and she comes up with a plan all of her own.

After going home to her father, things take a complete 180. And Savi finds out that people she once thought cared for her are the very same people who put her in the hands of her kidnappers. She once again finds herself in trouble.

This was a fast-paced book and I really couldn’t put it down. I had to admit, I had some issues with some of the decisions Savi made, especially at the end of the book. Granted, Cole’s mother was involved and probably should have kept her nose out of it. Book 3 should be interesting no doubt!
